Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by chichi carter on Feb 6, 2020 17:07:26 GMT 1, I understand people initially rushing the gate to buy the first edition of volume 1 in the hope of maybe scoring a tenner or a print (and also to enjoy the book, clearly). I also get the idea of having a different cover for the second edition of volume 1 to differentiate it from the first numbered edition. Shouldn't he have just left it at that? Just reprint that second version if you need more of volume 1. But now there is a third edition of volume 1 with a different cover, and there is going to be a special edition with a slip cover. Are people really looking at this book as a collectible and buying all the different versions? What's next, different color ways of the slip cover? I guess so since there is already a red 'friends and family' edition and a black 'general public' edition. Meanwhile it seems a lot of people who bought the first edition haven't even received it (or received it damaged) and can't seem to resolve that situation. This cow is getting milked fast and hard...

All this circus

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by goodfish on Feb 7, 2020 13:15:07 GMT 1, Can we all be honest? The book isn't even very good apart from a couple of insightful stories.
Not anything to get worked up about, but I understand it's annoying to deal with an unprofessional business.

It's a 25 quid book full of official photographs from an artist Laz worked with called Banksy. What an earth did you expect, its a book!
Yes frustrating if you paid and haven't received your book yet, I got shipping notification, you can't blame Laz for problems with the post service and customs control, and he's not Amazon!

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by mojo on Feb 7, 2020 13:41:51 GMT 1, You don’t have to be “Amazon” to treat people with respect. Stop defending such terrible behavior from a grown man that should know better. That is a crap excuse. I'd just like to make it clear I don't believe Amazon treat people with respect, what I meant is they are a massive organisation with the infrastructure to deal with sending out thousands of books.
I'm not making excuses for anybody I just think there has been a massive over reaction over a 25 quid book.

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by jimmyjam on Feb 7, 2020 15:06:14 GMT 1, He’s a pretty crappy photographer, and person, who got extremely lucky to be associated with Banksy’s original team. This book is pretty awful. It looks a a photo book you can make with Apple / iPhoto. The price was right for it but all bs marketing, lying and milking the whole thing with multiple editions; once again shows Steve true color. There is absolutely no reason why you need to by more than one edition. Its a pretty bad photo book. It’s funny how the nytimes article used all his photos... again bansky team manipulating the media.
Side note: Whenever the original members are asked about if they are Banksy they always reply with the same answer “we are all Banksy” yes these member are. I’m guess Banksy NDA allows them to say that. Brainwash and 3D always use the same answer. Have a feeling Brainwash and Steve still wish they were part of the team but can’t let it go.

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by GMA on Feb 7, 2020 15:28:15 GMT 1, Third edition, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, how many does he want to pump out?
Talk about milking the cow. I got the first edition, happy with it and that's that, I kind of feel he's playing on people who like to 'collect..... EVERYTHING'.

If that was the case wouldn't he just say "I'm doing a first edition of 5,000 and after that it's unlimited" If he wanted everyone to get one then he wouldn't make it an edition.
He's a clever bloke, I'll give him that but I think you're naive if you think he's doing it because he wants to give people a chance to own it... by doing editions.

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by JL Broooks on Feb 7, 2020 16:05:53 GMT 1, The book is probably top notch (I wouldn't know as I haven't received mine yet), what people react to is that Laz diminish and even jokes about what seems to be a massive logistical problem with his book release. For not to say that they have a huge problem answering their customers (i.e. no customer services), which again leads to customers feeling ripped off or even hustled. I saw from one of his IG posts that there was seemingly only 25 (of 5000) problem cases with the shipping of the first edition. I strongly doubt this - the problem seems much larger. By just doing a small check on another art forum (Norwegian one), about 50% of the members there that had ordered the 1st edition, have not received it yet.
All this could of course have been solved by customer services answering their clients and assuring that their book will eventually arrive.

It's the context of the book. If you buy into the cover. It's up to you. A book to me is what's inside.
