Gross Domestic Products uses Shopify.
Shopify is used as an Ecommerce Platform globally and is extremely popular.
There are loads of very good, well engineered bots that work on Shopify. Google "Shopify Bot" or look for Another Nike Bot, AIO etc
Typically these bots use keywords such as "Banksquiat" or "Clock" to (within millseconds) search the site, add to cart, skip the queue and checkout using pre-populated payment details.
People have been stung with unwanted goods by shops by changing titles, descriptions etc (this impacts keyword searches) but if you live in the EU you have 14 days to return any purchases so it just causes the seller a world of hassle. The Yanks need to suck it up though.
Also, yes, there are ways to mitigate against bots, but only if it's a custom install that has been developed to do so. As someone else said, simply adding some very simple verification (What's 1+1? or something) would do the trick. If Dover Street Market or KawsOne can't do this, then why would Pest Control?
In summary, I have no idea if bots will work or not but given I'll soon be on a beach in Thailand I don't really care.
