Although it has already been mentioned by others, your certainty on this occasion feels misplaced.
Newsprint paper offcuts can be purchased at pretty much any crafts shop, paper supplier or packaging retailer. The rat image itself isn't especially complicated; it was created using a single screen.
Someone with access to a real poster and a home studio could, within a couple of hours, therefore burn a duplicate screen and churn out reasonably-convincing fake screenprints. And if ignorant, credulous Banksy fans are the target marks, a scammer might save time by just making inkjet prints or photocopies.
Remember to factor in the financial incentive that exists to defraud other punters. Moreover, the rewards for scammers are greater if they can get in early.
Consider also the actual or probable character traits of anyone who is selling (or has sold) multiple copies of the posters on eBay. Even if theirs are genuine, it seems quite likely that getting hold of so many will have required the seller to be dishonest โ e.g. by wheeling out their kids like display whores to ask a GDP steward for posters, and then waiting around for a changeover of shifts, to request more posters from a new steward who's unaware they're being duped.
Given the circumstances, it isn't too far-fetched to imagine a motivated ticket-tout / scalper type of individual very quickly producing and releasing a stack of fake rat posters.

Erm , the print I have - all a symbol, nowadays , a single mum, Stik characters in fact are more social and political that we could think - , one of the first of Stik, only 50 ex and splendid, is 100 x more lovable and valuable than a poster that in anecdotic, for kids, and that could be a fake.
A Jonas Wood poster is only a poster you see my friend, and a lot bought a lot ( not me ).
Anyway I found this trade totally irrespective, maybe he thinks that I am a froggy fool.
Anyway, Art, is weird sometimes.

I have sold Invader kit 11 ( Paris ) to pay the Banksy print in case of, 2500 quids+ the box = I was asking 3,5K. So, I made a gift of 15 less 300 quids now, so I have paid this box 700 pounds, what a shame ( even WOH' - website - answered me to " keep my kit, that this box was only a tat and souvenir, without value )... Anyway, we have only one life ! |

I would get there as early as possible, when we went on Saturday one of the workers kindly told my girlfriend that they only hand them out earlier on when there are school children around and to come back tomorrow.
We arrived a bit too early at about 9am to his amusement on Sunday and he told us to come back in an hour or so after breakfast, we did and there were a group of school children being handed out posters and he managed to give us one!
Obviously the key here would be to check if they have been handing them out recently but thought I'd share with you.
PS. I would be careful with some of the Rats on eBay, I've seen a couple that look a bit suspect.
