Neo Matloga is a South African artist, now based close to our warehouse, in Amsterdam. His process is amazing and our first edition with him was made using an original linocut that he made specially for the project.

Why they need to come to the forum to sale they prints ??

The problem is they sold 80% of them good works to them and they friend
Amd now not one is buying the other prints

It's more like Avant Arte has turned into an exclusive club at which time entry is virtually impossible.

Got to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince but you do get a trophy 🏆

I am not sure about the price level. Prices in the secondary market are rising, so I think some artists/galleries are rising release prices as well. Please correct me if I am wrong, but has it been so much different in the past? Or was there a time where you had the feeling that it was a bargain to buy from certain (popular) artist?

by the way: I recently was lucky to acquire a print from AA and communication and the whole process was very professional and email contact was super friendly (first time I bought from AA).

Hey guys, we’ve got some exciting launches coming up with Avant Arte and thought I’d give you a look at what’s in store.

Earlier today we launched a sculpture edition by Zhang Huan - a performance artist (before Gaga’s meat dress he was walking the streets of NYC in a meat suit) and the maker of huge public sculptures. For our collab, he’s created a cast copper sculpture called Amitabha. The edition is pretty special considering how physically large his work usually is (and the fact he’s a legend).

Later this week, we’re announcing an edition with Roby Dwi Antono. His work is getting a lot of attention at the moment and the pieces we released for Work on Paper week sold out immediately. In our collaboration, he’s created KIRA. It’s a print that captures his distinct style, and even illuminates in the dark.

Finally, soon we’ll be announcing another collaboration with Alake Shilling. Her last edition with us sold out and we’re expecting a lot of hype around this one (she has her own huge announcements in the works). Will be able to reveal more soon...

On a side note, I did spot the job requisites. Love it when I get to give ambiguous and vague instructions to the junior staff with a tight deadline and have them run around for my sign off, only to find I've left the office for a "meeting" ie coffee with the other directors. Their mental health took a bashing. Heh heh heh.

FOR FREEDOMS
Collaborating with For Freedoms is a big moment for us, we have a some big public art activations planned in London for the end of the month, and the two works from Hank Willis Thomas and Christine Wong Yap are the first time that billboard designs from the iconic campaigns in the US have ever been released as editions.

Tomás Sánchez - En el paisaje interior £299

Our latest collaboration with masterful Cuban painter Tomás Sánchez, available to order for 24 hours only, presents a unique opportunity to acquire one of the artist’s emblematic dreamscapes.

En el paisaje interior, or ‘in the inner landscape,’ references the spiritual underpinnings of Sánchez’ practice – connecting the serenity tangible within the work not only with nature, but with our own capacity for meditation. Based on an original painting, the work’s symmetrical composition evokes the majesty of a cathedral nave in verdant rainforest form.

The edition will be printed using natural pigment-based inks in collaboration with a print house and paper mill who operate entirely on renewable energy sources. “The quality of these prints and how they respect the light and color of the originals allow a broader public to have a closer contact to my work.”
