Charity Auction for Glasgow Children's Hospital Scanner , by Lazarus II on Sept 6, 2020 10:37:41 GMT 1, I have yet to see artists promoting this, hopefully it is legit I find this comment disrespectful not only to the incredible artists and galleries who have donated work to this auction but also to me. I have spent over 9 months working with artists to pull together what you see on McTear's website. Also McTear's Fine Art auctioneers are one of the longest established independent auction houses in the UK, do you really think they would be staking their reputation on something that wasn't "legit". Artsts will be promoting via their social media nearer to the auction date in order to keep the message fresh. would have taken less time to google McTears than it would have to write a post questioning the legitimacy of the sale and the worthy cause for which you have put the graft in for🙈

Charity Auction for Glasgow Children's Hospital Scanner , by quinn on Sept 6, 2020 11:44:03 GMT 1, Well done McGill for putting this together for such a great cause. Might I ask if mctears are waiving the sellers fees? And will the buyers fees also be going to the charity?

Charity Auction for Glasgow Children's Hospital Scanner , by JockoLad on Sept 6, 2020 16:25:58 GMT 1, McGill, well done organising this. Have you a ballpark figure in your head how much you hope to raise via the auction? Is there any other way to donate aside from buying one of the lots?
Should be a great event and hopefully lots of bids coming in from members on here.

In retail terms I have around £32k worth of art but we all know how auctions work and it's very much down to who is bidding on the day. In terms of donating outwith the auction anyone can donate via our justgiving page: www.justgiving.com/campaign/BarclaysFetalScannerforGCHC
To date we have raised £77700 of our £96000 total so I'm really hoping that the auction gets us over the line. Would be an incredible thing to achieve given how badly our fundraising efforts have been hit by COVID.

Charity Auction for Glasgow Children's Hospital Scanner , by mcgill14 on Sept 18, 2020 9:01:36 GMT 1, Is any of the 35% buyers fee going to the charity? Hi, buyers fee is 24% plus vat. I am not going to discuss the agreement that we have with McTear's however they are being extremely generous with the charity and supportive of the auction.
Thanks....Steve

I’m sorry, I don’t understand? This is a charity thing but you ‘won’t discuss’ possible charges? Why not? It’s a reasonable question and one that I am struggling to understand you reluctance to answer. These items were gifted. Transparency is the least people can expect. It’s probably all above board. People will pile on telling me I’m unreasonable but I remember the guy that gave away diamonds on here and I remember Lahoda so it takes a little more than reassurance from someone on a chat board to make me feel safe... weird that you won’t provide it. Hope it does well, obvs.

Hope it does well, obvs. I do honestly despair sometimes. The charges are there on the McTear's website for all to see and what the MD of McTear's has agreed to do to support the cause is not up for debate. As I have said the charity and the result will be well supported by McTear's. Throughout this entire 9 month process I have been nothing but transparent. As for your comment " it's probably all above board", nice one. McTear's are promoting this across their website and the press as are the charity. The charity also have a major story about the auction on their own website: www.glasgowchildrenshospitalcharity.org/about-us/news/251-street-artists-draw-support-for-young-patients . Have a great day.....

Charity Auction for Glasgow Children's Hospital Scanner , by Octopus UK on Sept 19, 2020 15:47:28 GMT 1, Hello. Someone who is keen to bid on the Soup Can poster has asked my what provenance is available. If it helps people to bid with confidence I can supply the winning bidder with a printout of an Order Reference from POW with:
My Name My Address My (old) email address
My Order: Eine: Pink Train £125 Eine: Blue Train £125 Banksy: Soup Can Poster £9.99 Space Invader: Albino Invader £100
Total : £359.99
It is undated.
I am unwilling to share the precise details, name/address, etc, generally here but would pass this POW printout original to the successful bidder if I am contacted by them, and they can verify they are the successful bidder. The tube I sent it to mcgill in was the original POW tube (as far as I can recall).
Happy bidding.
PS I thought I was crazy back then to spend nearly £400 on four prints. I will, however, NEVER regret buying the Albino Invader though - I adore it.

Octopusuk is correct, he sent it to me in the POW tube which is postmarked 9.2.07 and I have some of the original POW tissue paper still in the tube.

Let the fun begin.
