Pejac โข H2O Print, by d.r. perseus on Dec 12, 2019 21:00:57 GMT 1, Shouldn't a lottery post all the winners? Which lottery in the world posts all winners ? ? ? ? ?
Big lottto in the US does for the most part. Not that it matters. I lost. Happy to lose really. Would have looked great on the wall though

Pejac โข H2O Print, by bradk on Dec 13, 2019 0:51:59 GMT 1, I fail to understand why people assume if they have had any dealings with Max and own a Pejac - they tend to assume they have the given right to expect an option on every edition that's released.
When it's clear and often argued on here, that Pejac needs to be made available to varying collectors and not just the UAA crowd and his existing client base.
All this talk of "VIP" and collector lists really annoys me....
I've been a huge fan of Pejac for 5/6 years, not as much as some I realise - but more than most!
I've been to London, Venice and Paris to see his shows and will go to NYC next year - I'm lucky enough to own an original and two prints. I've tried to buy prints before and been unsuccessful, passed on others and been lucky twice. Myself and Max worked briefly on a project together as I'm sure he wouldn't mind me saying and have what I would describe as a good professional friendship. I tell everybody thats interested about Pejac and shout him from the rooftops because IMO he's one of the best there is and is one my favourite artists in turn - I would like to think I've bought more than my fair share of fellow collectors and value to the table through him hanging on my walls and my general admiration for his work.
"H20" I adored and was for me a perfect release - Brilliant thought provoking image as always, hand finished, priced well, packaging was ace, mini print, lottery, delayed COA etc - Really well done Max and Pejac, ticked a lot of boxes!
I bought my ticket like everyone else and crossed my fingers...and yesterday refreshed my inbox with excitement every 10 mins, checked junk, checked here on the thread and repeated for about 4 miserable hours......Still no joy - but it is what it is, I take the positives from not winning that at least I'm not alone in adoring his work....lol...yes some will flip for ยฃ but thats life and some new collectors out there will have the excitement that I got when I scored my first print in 2016.
The last thing on my mind would be to start calling out Max on here and dumping my collection, then denouncing Max and Pejac as bad management and as an artist. Like some petulant child thats literally throwing his art collection out his pram!!
In summary and at the risk of sounding really arrogant - if these "VIP & Preferred" collector lists do exist I'd love to know who the top 100 are in front of me who's done more than his fair share of supporting Pejac. Give Max a f**king break guys and grow up a little because you didn't win the raffle!

Pejac โข H2O Print, by brockin123 on Dec 13, 2019 1:50:31 GMT 1, and I would completely agree with you, if they would tell me my donation was going to a chance at 1 of 50 prints. Seems so silly that they wouldn't just be open about it. Neither of them owe me anything and I donated for the chance at winning the opportunity to purchase something from an artist that I've very found of. In the end, it's great that a large sum is being donated to charity and I can feel good about contributing. Always would like to have the chance at a great print, but it is what it is. I'm still excited to put a new Pejac on my wall, even if it is slightly smaller than I would have hoped for. I read the complaints as being about a lack of transparency.

Even if they only raffled 1 of the 100.. it's still 1 of 100.. "1 of 50" would imply an edition of only 50, only for winners to receive a print marked edition of 100.. that would be far more shady imho

Hereโs a direct quote from a Max email regarding Yin Yang
โ We are in a complicated position in regards of pre-sales requests as we have received so so many, most from very committed and long time fans. If we would take one we would have to take all requests and the edition would be sold before its release. Thus we want to put them all out on the online release and try giving everybody the same chance. I hope you can understand.
What I could offer you is to include you on the waiting list for the Special Edition (not the Charity one). This is a smaller run with hand finished details at a higher price that will not be online available.โ
If this a reflection of how they typically operate Iโm appreciative that us regular folk arenโt cut out because of those with deeper pockets. It would give credit to the belief that all were likely available for the lottery. I would however like to know about all available editions before I choose to spend my money (or not). VIP may not necessarily get everything they want, but an effort is definitely made to ensure that top collectors arenโt left empty handed and disappointed. All of this is certainly acceptable in my opinion, you gotta keep the big spenders happy. No different than any market really. I donโt believe they are generally up to anything shady or deceptive but transparency could be improved.

Which should read "chance to win 1 of 50 prints from an edition of 100"

Pejac โข H2O Print, by sfnyc on Dec 13, 2019 4:16:13 GMT 1, As stated in other threads there is validity to the concerns of many collectors here, so wether you like Pejac's PR & release style or not does not invalidate collectors' sentiment and views.
Also i dont think only 50 were available. Probably 10/15% we re made available to vips. I ve seen enough winners here and from others not on this forum to believe a fair share was made available in the lottery

I'm being very literal
Even if only 1 were raffled, you still have a chance of winning 1 of 100
I didn't participate as I'm not a Huge fan these days, I've fallen out of love. But wasn't it for charity?
Either way.. no legal deception. Simply people assuming that it meant 100 people could win. You're technically raffling for a chance at 1... Not a "chance" of being one of 100 winners. Big difference

If you say "chance to win 1 of 100 prints" that implies there are 100 editions available. If 50 were held back, then your odds of winning are cut in half. Which should read "chance to win 1 of 50 prints from an edition of 100" I'm being very literal Even if only 1 were raffled, you still have a chance of winning 1 of 100 I didn't participate as I'm not a Huge fan these days, I've fallen out of love. But wasn't it for charity? Either way.. no legal deception. Simply people assuming that it meant 100 people could win. You're technically raffling for a chance at 1... Not a "chance" of being one of 100 winners. Big difference

Pejac โข H2O Print, by streetartger on Dec 13, 2019 11:54:37 GMT 1, I fail to understand why people assume if they have had any dealings with Max and own a Pejac - they tend to assume they have the given right to expect an option on every edition that's released. Nothing more to add and maybe the best post in this whole thread!

Pejac โข H2O Print, by Shoeless on Dec 13, 2019 16:39:13 GMT 1, Im happy enough with the small print I will receive. Not too bothered about how everything went down. BUT.. Faile held a similar lottery in 2012 for the Wolf Within print. They were upfront in saying that the total edition of that print was 50, yet only 25 winners would be chosen from the lotto. Thatโs a clear statement on both the edition and whatโs available to win. Pejac should have done the same.

Right. Except that implies that there were 100 collectors that โwonโ the lottery. Not 50 winners and 50 โVIPsโ. Which, to be fair, I donโt know for certain that is the case. I donโt care one way or the other. Just pointing out that they could have been more clear if that is what happened. No disappointment here. Just an opinion.

They DID make a statement. It said : 100 collectors won. So until proven otherwise, that is what happened.
Why would you continue a 50/50 theory, without ANY proof of that? That is not an opinion.
In that mindset, why not suggest that Faile only put 10 in actual lottery and gave the other 15 to VIP's? I'm not suggesting they did. Just odd you accept one artist statement and distrust another...

Pejac โข H2O Print, by Riotcops on Dec 13, 2019 19:40:39 GMT 1, I think everyone is arguing about the odds not the edition number. Big difference Sorry but you are most definitely raffling for a chance of being 1 of 100 winners. The difference is you have a chance of winning 1 of 100, 100x!!
Of course you are only winning 1, but the odds of winning are literally 100x greater if they actually draw 100 winners vs however many people are saying were actually available. You are implying you still have the same chance at winning the jackpot if you spin the slot machine 1x vs 100x...and you don't.
Imagine a public lottery where they claimed 100 people will win $1 million dollars and you bought a ticket. Then live on air they draw one winner (who wins 1 million) and then they say thats all folks. The other $99 million went to our friends. You, as someone who entered to win 1 million, should get 1 hundred chances to win - not 1.

But wasn't it for charity? Either way.. no legal deception. Simply people assuming that it meant 100 people could win. You're technically raffling for a chance at 1... Not a "chance" of being one of 100 winners. You're right, but he's just talking about the wording. The chance of winning is of course higher with more prices. But the linguistics is still correct even though only 50 were in the lottery (I do not believe only 50 were handed out). All we knew when entering was that there were an edition of 100 and you had the opportunity to win 1 of them.

I see. So some people are getting heated up by a hypothesis and then blame the artist and its management. Weird times...

Probably best to cancel your order if you don't want it - I'm sure its not too late and someone would love to have it for cost rather than pay your 5000โฌ asking price.

Pejac โข H2O Print, by Deleted on Dec 18, 2019 9:42:05 GMT 1, I'm also a passionate collector, but in this world of backdoors, fake lotteries, razzias at distinguished auction houses, and vault opening where the gallery simply didn't sell the whole lot and kept some for flipping...
I'm just taking advantage of some luck the universe gave me to take my share. Also note this is an investment, even short term, and a risk, which by all logic should be compensated.
We all take advantage of some things in life, and give back in other areas, keep balance.
Swearing will not change anything except make you more angry, maybe, which I don't care because I don't know you.
And maybe this is poor form, but only hypocrites will care about the form, "oh but I waited 1 month to flip it, so it's all ok in teletubbies land".
You can send me a message if interested, or play the hypocrite snitch like @riotcops playing the interested party just to get information and publish it. Own yourself.
And BTW, the price I'm looking for is not 5000. Yes I said 5000 to that person, but I changed my mind. There you go, so much for your miserable attempt at "public shaming".
