Pejac โข H2O Print, by Fะฏ on Dec 6, 2019 12:59:41 GMT 1, Can anyone care to explain what they think the meaning of this is.. The space man is on earth.
The anchor suggests all water and life gone as it is the bottom of the sea.
If anyone needs any more spoon feeding i will be in my hole.
P.s you click your mouse on the pejac website to do stuff - incase it was not clear.

Pejac โข H2O Print, by Fะฏ on Dec 6, 2019 14:36:10 GMT 1, not even sure why people are asking
its written on the site.
At the end of the year in which we witnessed a significant paradigm shift in terms of awareness about the vital environmental issues, as well as celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing, Pejac is releasing a new limited edition print cleverly connecting both seemingly unrelated subjects. Based on the main promotional image of Waterline, his latest solo exhibition held in Paris, the image is depicting an astronaut standing in a desolate landscape facing a stranded anchor. While the striking image can be seen as a sharp warning about the mankind's dystopian future (or past), Spanish artist is actually using the 1st Moon landing as a key example of a man achieving the impossible.
Often connecting the reality and the fantasy through his work, Pejac has created an image that is a tribute to a fulfilled dream. Whether reading it as a hypothesis that humans once lived on the Moon, or seeing a distant future space explorer re-discovering once Blue planet, H2O is a heartening reminder that there is a way to achieve the great, seemingly impossible things.

Pejac โข H2O Print, by kuni on Dec 6, 2019 14:52:27 GMT 1, I thought sea levels were rising Who says it's on earthโฆ. ? I was going to say, I actually read it initially as being another planet. I entered the lotto and would most likely purchase the print if I won. Don't own any Pejac but like the image and could see myself enjoying it on the wall.
EDIT: Just read the write up on the site which (thanks for the spoon feeding) makes it clear.

Pejac โข H2O Print, by drip on Dec 6, 2019 16:17:31 GMT 1, Finally, some art to talk about.
I like the concept of using the moon landing as an example of humans achieving amazing things, I mean, it's the fcking moon! Apes have no fcking business being up there. Dinosaurs were around for hundreds of millions of years, and didn't even build so much as a shopping centre. We fcking rock. Admittedly, they didn't artificially fck about with their environment on the scale that we have, but hey, we might burn out sooner than they did, but we'll burn brighter.
From the write-up, it appears Pejac is playing with the subject matter, refusing to lead us down any obvious path (like it's a mocked-up Sunday Sport front cover proclaiming ANCHOR FOUND ON MOON!!), instead suggesting we can come up with our own interpretations. I fcking refuse however to think of the image as "a sharp warning about the mankind's dystopian future (or past)" - no. It cannot be a sharp warning about mankind's past. Fck that right off.
"Whether reading it as a hypothesis that humans once lived on the Moon" - While I appreciate that we can all bring our own narrative to every piece of art, and there are no incorrect interpretations of art, this can also get in the fcking bin.
"or seeing a distant future space explorer re-discovering once (a/the?) Blue planet" - If they're inferring that the presence of the anchor means the barren planet once had a large body of water on it, it's unlikely to be the moon, and is more likely to be the Earth or a similar planet.
Overall, I love the piece. And while many may rightly interpret the image as an interpretation of mankind's ability to achieve the impossible, to overcome nature and escape the boundaries of our seemingly inescapable cage, I prefer to view it slightly differently. The astronaut is a symbol of what mankind is capable of, when we have the political and collective will to triumph and succeed, however I view the image as if the astronaut's suit is now housing the long-dead corpse of a once triumphant and high-achieving human being. They may have even been responsible for placing the anchor there? That's the kind of seemingly impossible crap that humans seem to love. Maybe they had an art grant?
I think it's all about technology. The anchor, once invented by mankind to act as a stabilising influence against the tide, now sits useless and decaying. Whatever it once held safely in place, has long since been lost. The astronaut, instead of thriving in a hostile environment, is actually trapped and vulnerable. A prisoner of its own technology. Unable to live without it.

Pejac โข H2O Print, by Henry Gale Was Here on Dec 6, 2019 17:17:19 GMT 1, The Pejac special is also that you'll see 'secret' deluxe, smaller edition versions for sale in a few months time. Hand finished aliens on this one. Since the "main" Edition is already hand finished, I doubt there will be a special edition of this one. Pricing compared to the pricing with other artists and releases and what's happening on the Secondary I think it's still fair. Oh there will definitely be a $pecial โฌdition!
