Cant have been ripped off because they were promoting this gig for a while before Mr B made his mark.

IDK, there's still something off about it and I can't put a finger on why. Like if this was designed for the event then why did the mural go up in Birmingham rather than Bristol, why didn't Banksy acknowledge or promote the event/cause? The record label didn't even go on record saying Banksy did the design. Everyone around the event didn't tease it, ah there's a surprise in store later we'll tell you about who designed the art.

My guess is Banksy has been working on this mural concept for a while, someone (probably Geoff) in that camp probably saw it or knew about it and asked if he could use it. He was probably told no but you can mock up your own version, it just can't be exactly the same.
I feel like if Banksy actually designed it he would have done a far better job in mocking it up as a Christmas sweater. It just looks like someone pixelated the design. There are plenty of great photoshop tools that could have made it look more like a knit.

Really don't know, I was happy to pick up a tshirt for £20, and a few raffle tickets for a tenner each. It all went to a good cause and they look pretty cool. I haven't heard Mr B saying "No, I didn't do this". Guess we'll never know.
