What percentage of folks who walk in your house, by cest on Feb 7, 2020 2:36:22 GMT 1, What percentage of folks who walk in your house know you have a banksy or would even recognize one if they saw it .
I have a couple of Peckham rocks in my hall bathroom, one turned around so you can read the details.
I'm having a party and someone comes up to me while I'm talking to a group and says "is that a "real" banksy?" Forgetting about the Peckham rocks in the stall I stammered and asked "were you in my bedroom?". Another (buzzed) person hardly noticing my uncomfort asks out loud "do you have a f**kingBanksy in this house?"
Busted.
Makes me wonder if i could have gone the rest of my life without friends knowing what is on my walls. I dont have a Girl With Red Balloon (worst print by him) on my wall. In the usa, there's probably not much else that's recognizable by him.

What percentage of folks who walk in your house, by pfffffffffft on Feb 7, 2020 3:32:41 GMT 1, When we had our Nola we kept it in the bedroom so no one but us ever got close to it. Early on my husband posted a photo on Facebook of it and I read him the riot act and ultimately made him delete the post. People started leaving judgey comments on the post for having expensive art. I got paranoid about having the expensive art. Then having relatives making assumptions about your life's choices when you just want to say "I got lucky! I won this for 500 GBP. I know we gave you a fondue pot for Chsitmas but it's because that was our budget, we're not ballers over here being a cheapskate with you".
Super weirdly specific hahahahaha.
We loved it exactly where it was and got to enjoy it all the time and were completely fine with us and our closest friends seeing it.

No one I know gives a monkeys really beyond saying 'is that new' or 'I like that one' occasionally. If I did have a Banksy, there is at least a fighting chance that someone might recognise it as a Banksy.

What percentage of folks who walk in your house, by davin550 on Feb 7, 2020 16:23:30 GMT 1, This is a really interesting topic. I just hung up my first Banksy in the house. I was able to get my hands on a one-sided, unfolded Forgive Us Our Trespassing lithograph print. Since its not eligible for a PC COA, it was really quite affordable. Even so, I felt very proud to hang it up in the house. It's in the upstairs office, so no one else has seen it. Last week, my wife and I were having dinner with friends and one of them started talking about Banksy. My wife and I gave each other a look and we both kept our mouths shut about it, knowing what kind of judgment it could bring.
Our other artwork, which includes a Paul Insect, a Chevrier, a couple of Mehdi's and a Pez, is prominently displayed throughout the house. None of which are recognized by anyone, but I notice that the Pez Alter Ego seems to always capture the most attention. People will just stand in front of it and stare.

What percentage of folks who walk in your house, by Buff Monster Fan on Feb 7, 2020 18:39:34 GMT 1, I've actually thought about this before.
It's fun to see a visitor's skeptical gaze at particular pieces (my simple black and white Blek le Rat and Banksy rats, on the same wall, draw the most confusion - "why do you have rats on your wall?!?"). I also have some colorful KAWs companions and Bearbricks sprinkled about that I'm sure puzzle most folks.
Keep in mind that I like what I like and don't care about others opinions of my 'art'

I solved this problem by erasing all the signatures. In other cases I sign my most important and expensive art myself.

Few notice the Banksy or the Kaws, most comment on how they like all the art, but that's it. More people spend time looking at my plants and playing with my baby than looking at the art. Good thing too, because it ain't for them. It's for me, my wife, and my daughter.

And the answer is the Miaz Brothers. And they look from up close and from a little further away and they inquire on what the medium is. No matter if the guest is into art or not, it is the piece that gets all the attention. They don't care much about who did the rest of what's on the walls.
