I think the graph omitted the data points at the end, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and finally the Kardashians.

Oil stocks. Down due to virus and Russia/Saudi Arabia battle for market share. Better bet than cruises as people will not travel for a fair bit after this is over.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by aumi on Mar 12, 2020 11:59:42 GMT 1, I think it is going to have a massiv impact on the art market. At least til the moment people realize how serious it is. Economy will decline/ is already declining. People need the money to buy essentials and not art. Lets hope that higher temperatures will kill the virus. Otherwise we will have to wait quite a while for any vaccine.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Terry Fuckwitt on Mar 12, 2020 13:28:52 GMT 1, So Trump bans all flights from (most of) Europe, but exempts the UK. Leading coronavirus expert Nigel Farage (โthe World Health Organisation is just another club of โclever peopleโ who want to bully and tell us what to doโ) spews more jingoistic nonsense saying โdrastic but necessary measures. The UK is now treated as an independent countryโ. Besides the fact Trumpโs ban also exempts a number of EU countries, Farage and other UK Trump supporters thinking heโs doing us a favour have - unsurprisingly - failed to grasp that this means any Americans (or anyone else for that matter) trying to get to the US from Italy and other affected hotspots will be obliged to travel via the UK (where passengers arriving from other countries are NOT being tested at UK airports) thus considerably increasing the risk of spreading infection here.
That was exactly my thoughts. I also have a lot of other thoughts that I still can't comprehend. Why did we not stop all flights from China for 2 weeks from the onset of knowing this was a bad virus? Why the hell are spectators allowed at Cheltenham festival all this week? There are 70,000 people mingling all day every day like sardines. It's not like a football match where they are all seated. It's all down to money and the economy comes first and people's lives and health second. All a bit fucked up if you ask me๐

I understand what you are saying about stadiums, but have you ever been to Cheltenham festival. Its absolutely heaving with people pushing and shoving in the bars. One person there could potentially infect 100 others, not just the one or two sat next to a carrier at a football match.

Spoke to a friend who lives in Milan. Only grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, hardware stores and tobacconists open. Supermarkets letting people in 5 at a time. He went out with his wife for a stroll today but officially thatโs not allowed.., permit required. Milanese are pretty much getting on with it. Bad stories from hospitals. Some small optimism that Lombardia may be turning the corner.

They will. Maybe as they did in Italy, too late, or in Spain, that will do soon (letโs hope that not so late as things are going bad already...)

At the moment you are not even allowed to take a walk outside.
unrealistic situation, hopefully will end soon

Around 3% of this number could potentially die, that's about 1.2 million deaths. Ok, let's carry on, happy days!

Close down London underground which is like a cesspit and shut down the schools from now until the end of Easter hols. Businesses can let people work from home. The problem with closing down schools is that parents then inevitably don't turn up for work in order to look after the kids; and that will include parents that work as doctors and nurses and hospital cleaners etc, i.e. people we desperately need at work.
We also need healthcare workers to be able to get to work, so closing down public transport is not an option either.
