Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Apr 2, 2020 23:22:52 GMT 1, I read about the Van Gogh, itโs crazy, do they really think, theyโll get away with it? Itโs like.. I mean, it is a f**kingvan gogh, who would buy it, a stolen van gogh? Is there a secondary market for such? I mean how would you present it for your friends? Your wife, boyfriend lover butler doctor, lawyer? Oh yeah, that ol thing.. iโve got it for years.. It's amazing how poor security is in some museums. I know of one where a very valuable painting was cut out of the frame and it turned out that the museum did not have any security cameras installed. The theft was also covered up for two weeks by the museum and local authority.
People steal for all sorts of reasons including using valuable stolen art as collatoral between drug dealers and other criminals. Stolen to order for a collector happens sometimes, and other reasons including ransom demands as in money to return of the painting.
Whoever stole it knew the layout and security of the museum.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 2, 2020 23:29:09 GMT 1, Who can help in finding a source coronavirus Medical Testing Kit Palestine suffers from severe shortages This is a desperate medical crisis for regions like Palestine. Ironically it is in the economically poorest regions of the World where testing kits have the most utility if co-ordinated centrally. My advice with or without testing would be to: - โshieldโ vulnerable relatives and friends - observe social distancing (2m) - wash your hands thoroughly and regularly - avoid touching your face - only go out for essential reasons - if you work or live in overcrowded environments everyone should try to wear face masks- even a self made one will be better than nothing - but beware it will not protect you per se, but help reduce you spreading it to others. - If you have symptoms self-isolate for 14 days - when unwell, be prepared to seek medical advice in a timely manner. Is Israel sending medical relief supplies? This is a situation where a global effort is needed combing all resources to eradicate this issue . even if a country controls the pandemic within its borders this is useless unless surrounding neighbours follow suit .
isreal although seen in its harshness treatment towards the state of Palestine it would be in its best interest to assist and contain the virus in Palestine , isreal relies on casual workers , these type of workers will be needed most in recovery of their economy also there are still many illegal crossings into isreal from Palestine ,those people entering could potentially reintroduce the virus, and isreal could not afford to lose a work force they rely on
would be nice for humanitarian needs isreal would help but more likely for self needs they will assist.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Apr 2, 2020 23:32:35 GMT 1, There's an interesting piece here about the difficulties with statistics. "...many will die whether or not they get the virus. Every year, about 600,000 people in the UK die. And the frail and elderly are most at risk, just as they are if they have coronavirus. Nearly 10% of people aged over 80 will die in the next year, Prof Sir David Spiegelhalter, at the University of Cambridge, points out, and the risk of them dying if infected with coronavirus is almost exactly the same." www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51979654 This is an example of how Coronavrus is blamed for every death or so it seems.
"Eddie Large: Comedian dies aged 78 with coronavirus"
www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-52136768
the article then goes on to say he was suffering with heart failure and been ill for a while.
So he is another corona virus death statistic for the government now.
I don't know if coronavirus is more contagious than influenza. It seems to be as there is the flu jab etc that people take against flu. It also looks like pneumonia that is associated with corona virus as a sympton is the biggest killer of patients who get Covid-19

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Apr 2, 2020 23:57:20 GMT 1, Anyway, don't let the government get away with this.
"NHS frontline workers visas extended so they can focus on fighting coronavirus
Doctors, nurses and paramedics with visas due to expire before 1 October 2020 will have them automatically extended for one year."
www.gov.uk/government/news/nhs-frontline-workers-visas-extended-so-they-can-focus-on-fighting-coronavirus
Priti Patel and the UK government is out of order. Saying that the immigrant doctors and nurses fighting to save peoples lives visas will be extended for one year. Basically because the gov might still need these people on the front line for many more months.
These people are risking there lives and some have allready died contracting covid themselves in NHS hospitals.
Visas extended for one year is a huge insult.
They should be given full settled status if they want it, for them and their families.

It also looks like pneumonia that is associated with corona virus as a sympton is the biggest killer of patients who get Covid-19 The reporting of deaths is completely inconsistent. As it stands most countries are simply reporting deaths where patients have also tested positive for Caronavirus, they have yet to establish if complications caused by Caronavirus were the principle cause of death. A select few countries are adjusting death rates to reflect Caronavirus as the principle cause and unsurprisingly their death rates are far lower. If you are dying in a hospital in Italy or Spain, or even the UK at the moment thereโs a good chance you could pick up Caronavirus along with several other infectious diseases and none of them would be the primary cause of death if you were admitted due to a terminal pre existing condition.

But also important to note the system isnt set up for real time reporting of deaths and that causes of death arent always black and white (or worth the expense of a post mortem).

"NHS frontline workers visas extended so they can focus on fighting coronavirus Doctors, nurses and paramedics with visas due to expire before 1 October 2020 will have them automatically extended for one year." www.gov.uk/government/news/nhs-frontline-workers-visas-extended-so-they-can-focus-on-fighting-coronavirus Priti Patel and the UK government is out of order. You and I donโt agree about many things, which is fine. I do agree with your sentiments here. Thank's Coach. I appreciate that.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Apr 3, 2020 0:52:55 GMT 1, This is an example of how Coronavrus is blamed for every death or so it seems. "Eddie Large: Comedian dies aged 78 with coronavirus"
www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-52136768 the article then goes on to say he was suffering with heart failure and been ill for a while. So he is another corona virus death statistic for the government now. I don't know if coronavirus is more contagious than influenza. It seems to be as there is the flu jab etc that people take against flu. I agree.
It seems that pneumonia is affecting a lot of people. There also seem to be agood percentage of people who have had Covid and had little or no symptons. I think there should be more reporting on the number of people with covid and the number of people who have recovered but we won't know that because the government has to me any way deliberately or so it looks messed up the procedure to test everyone for covid.
It's proven scientifically that the covid virus circulates in the air in some situations. Plus the more exposure one has to the virus the deadlier it is. Which is the conclusion of Professor Kim Woo-joo from Korea University Guro Hospital. Who has been treating people who have had deadly virus inc Sars 1, Ebola, Bird flu and others for thirty years. There is a good subtitled interview on the "ASIAN BOSS" youtube channel

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Apr 3, 2020 0:55:45 GMT 1, news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-people-who-recover-could-be-issued-immunity-certificates-11967704
Good idea in principle but Think a bit irresponsible of the government to release a statement yet
Having problems with supply of raw materials for tests , tests so far not 100% accurate , global demand for materials for the test kits are unfathomable , Eu has introduced a new law to restrict medical materials as a priority to member states only .
As a vaccine is not looking likely to be developed in the near future and global roll out of vaccine may be two years away as previously stated by government advisors to complete and pass all rounds of testing , not taking into account the global demand and lack of raw materials needed that will slow down production and the workers in these sectors may be decreased as of infections that may effect production, from scientists to product line staff if a number of workers from any part of the production is removed it will slow development and production
the government cannot sustain propping up the economy and want workers back lessening their burden of costs .
They have made an accepted loss of life calculations ,
Probably spin advisor advice to put a bit of positive news as lately all releases have been negative with covid 19
Still not enough tests carried out to make such a statement , references are made to previous conoviruses or flu that the body builds up immunity but little is known with this virus and if the body will react in the same way and stated it is unlike previous viruses , even states this in governments reports .

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Apr 3, 2020 1:09:18 GMT 1, I wonder why Sweden is refusing to enforce a lockdown when the rest of Europe is doing that?
Does Sweden have scientific evidence to say that a lockdown is not needed?
Some scientists are saying that half of Sweden's population could have covid by the end of april.
France's purchase of masks from China has apparently been diverted to the US because the Chinese got a better offer. I wonder if France was using a middle man importer?
Doctors in France are also suing the French government over the Covid response.
"COVID-19 pandemic: Doctors sue French government for criminal negligence"
www.wsws.org/en/articles/2020/03/27/fran-m27.html
"Chloroquine in short supply as hospitals buy in bulk"
www.modernhealthcare.com/supply-chain/chloroquine-short-supply-hospitals-buy-bulk
The UK response to Covid is probably a combination of one eye on the money and another eye on the Covid outbreak. I am sure they could do a lot more if they did not rely so much on the bean counters.

This is complete nonsense. The time and resource it would take to setup and monitor such a scheme would outweigh any benefit. Never going to happen. Theyโve got two-three weeks to admit they have no real way of dealing with this that doesnโt involve serious trade offs, and to give people the honest choices which lie ahead, being complete economic and societal collapse or live with the virus and cope as best we can and the collateral damage that may bring. My view is that we can manage this without the need to dismantle civilised society.

Government probably looking forward and want to limit civil unrest as if the public are still in the same position and the number of deaths discussed materialise there will be an element of civil disturbance as seen festering in pockets through out Europe , the government did note further testing needed first , but why release the statement now ? Will cause more anxiety to some if their suggestion does not materialise

Will cause more anxiety to some if their suggestion does not materialise That is what I suspect to be the reason for Sweden not having a lock down. Civil unrest by certain sections of society.
Some French politicians have also said that they want some zones in Paris to be exempt from lock down. The politicians did say migrant zones (their words not mine), to prevent unrest.
Some factions are anxious to create unrest it seems.
There is all ready unrest in France where in some towns cars set on fire and the police called out and once the police get there they are attacked by people throwing rocks and stuff.
In the UK I think it is more a case of if people are not tested and if healthy allowed to work. The whole country could be in lock down for three months and thousands will lose their lively hoods, mall businesses and jobs and the economy and people might not recover for a long time. The Mayor of New York proposed the same thing the other week, that people are tested and healthy people allowed to go to work.
