The Mayors Banksy Elephant Bomber (Awaiting authentication by Pest Control). Bought in London in 2010 by the Mayors Consort this piece was reputed to come from Roberta Street EC2. Given to the Mayor for her 50th birthday by her consort Mr Bryan Garrigan, it has been in storage almost continuously. The Mayor decided that instead of hiding it away it should be used to raise money for some excellent causes in Folkestone. The Rainbow Centre (local foodbank and Winter Shelter), FYP Charity – working with youngsters giving them stable guidance, activities and encouraging them to stay in education, Living Words Charity – artists and poets working with dementia sufferers to help them find their voice again. It is a large concrete slab with the Elephant and Banksy stencil on it. Currently awaiting authentication from “Pest Control” as the Mayor had not planned on selling it so had not asked for authentication earlier. This is a very heavy item so buyer will have to arrange pick up
Below is the reply i received from the auction house 
I have attached photos for you - is current with Pest Control for authentication (sent 7th Feb 2020) - please see attached reference number.
As there is currently no COA it is being sold as seen - obviously if the authentication comes through before the auction it will be posted online and will make a huge difference to the price.
I have never bothered asking for authenticity previously because I was not going to sell it however decided that the charities need it more than I do.

Maybe that's why they try to sell it before a COA is refused…..
Now they can still say it's been requested.
They claim they are "awaiting authentication".
But in fact they are just on the bottom of the pile and will most likely be refused when they make it to the top.

That's just the PC automated response gives no indication as to whether or not PC will authenticate it. If the Mayor really is selling for charity she has a lot more chance than the buyer of getting a COA.
