If those speculative edition sizes are correct then they are not too high. The art market is much bigger then this forum. I don't know if it's that much bigger than this forum. Look on IG and all the same UAA characters on there are commenting on the hot new artists and purchasing the sub-100k artworks of hyped emerging artists.

When all is said and done with this silly virus, an image that stands out that has been used everywhere, its on billboards, its on your neighbours windows is a rainbow. It will be symbolic from this very strange time. The heart will not be that.
The rainbow is both a stronger image / shape, and much more fitting of a shitty shitty 2020.
Honestly quite surprised the large hearts outsold the rainbows.
When all is said and done with this silly virus, an image that stands out that has been used everywhere, its on billboards, its on your neighbours windows is a rainbow. It will be symbolic from this very strange time. The heart will not be that.
The rainbow is both a stronger image / shape, and much more fitting of a shitty shitty 2020.

Would they of said the same for banksy flags? I don’t think the edition size matters too much. If the edition is a strong image it has potential imo.

I agree with your point of view, but what I was trying to say if it was not so clear was that a few posts regarding this release were trying to play down the edition size. With only one thing in mind (££$$€€) and not as you said," to feed people and give collectors that other way could not afford a Hirst "like he intended.

Yes. Yes they would. They would of recommended buying at the time of flags a print of his in a smaller quantity in an image I still loved if my sole reason was to maximize profit. Maybe it would cost a bit more, but we’re talking investing vs buying for the art.

The promised edition size was very clear on the Heni site as the number of prints sold during the 7 day offer. I think it would be quite problematic if they then expanded the edition with the extra donations. I'm imagining the give-aways will be outside of the numbered edition.

Not sure if it would be too do with style. You could say both are his style because of the butterflies.
However I did actually say to a few friends when deciding what I wanted to buy that the rainbow looked better smaller and the heart looks better at the bigger scale.
I do like all 4 however.
