Damien Hirst, Rainbow & Heart H7, by Charlie Bronson on May 18, 2020 20:31:42 GMT 1, Thanks for posting Charliebronson, think I'll go for one of these.
No worries. I just grabbed one of each, small. 300 seems more than reasonable for an aluminum piece by arguably the number one artist in the world. Plus, framing these in a thick, box white frame or box walnut wood frame, without glass, should look pretty amazing. Or maybe I’m just trying to convince myself that it was a good buy🤷🏻♂️

I might do the same with the small heart one to rally make it pop in the frame.

That’s a great idea. Having the aluminum piece sit flush in the mat with the frame surrounding it will look amazing. Plus, it’ll serve as a safe way to mount the piece.

So if more than one person here wanted a rainbow or heart mat it would be much cheaper once the file is created.

Damien Hirst, Rainbow & Heart H7, by artlife11 on May 18, 2020 22:19:58 GMT 1, Great to see that there's the option of something cheap. I know the edition size will be astronomical, but the ability to own a Hirst for £300 is really special. Asking the missus what she thinks of them. I'm gonna buy one anyway, but her reaction determines whether I tell her or not Great cause too - just hoping that the incredible response the NHS has provided during this crisis helps to force those that want it privatised back under their rocks where they belong. It's not perfect, but I'm bloody glad we have it!
This made me laugh about telling the Mrs I bought a small rainbow today and then thought I’d bought the wrong one so I bought the heart as well. I got a large bill for something else this evening and questioned my implulse purchases. I thought Oh you’ve made a mistake but then thought the money is going to help people in the NHS and have told myself to stop worrying It’s all OK now Well done Damien

Damien Hirst, Rainbow & Heart H7, by Winter on May 18, 2020 23:37:28 GMT 1, Has this turned into a NHS Salary thread ?
Same people steering It into a political debate. Personally I’m not a fan of the aluminium dibond production. I don’t like any of the Heni works. Great cause and huge amount of money will be raised but I’d prefer it on paper.

When the NHS, and the ‘low skilled’ people who work in it require charity, it’s political.
Mate will you bore off. Let’s keep this art thread about art. Save the politics chat for Facebook or the Guardian comments section.

I really hoped that this would be my first Hirst but, to be honest, I find those really kitsch and will put the money towards an woodcut spot print.

I’m on the fence. I have a signed DH poster of a (in my opinion) better image from what I’m sure will be a smaller edition at the end of this. I’ve bought (and will continue) to buy works from artists in the pandemic that support charities so not feeling a desperate need from that angle. If I get one it will go in a drawer in my plan chest and gather very little (If any) value. I’m not a fan of rainbows or hearts. And yet...

Can’t see the problem really. Making an expensive artist very affordable and the profit going to a good cause.

Because:

Agreed - sorry, this was a list of general reasons why I’d buy something with no intention of putting it on the wall rather than this particular piece.
Can’t see them pulling the offer - might take a while to produce and ship though.
