Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by H.R. on Jun 8, 2020 5:27:28 GMT 1, Itโs not a competition. We can all go back in history and find things that our ancestors did that will have us at each otherโs throats. Easily. People have been killing each other and brutalizing them since the stone ages.
Itโs about coming together to stop it. Police brutality needs to end. For black people, for f**kingeveryone. Iโve been spun up by a couple batons after I was pepper sprayed and then handcuffed and thrown to the ground on my face in the street. Wrong place wrong time. I wasnโt even apart of who they were after. And it was pretty obvious. I was/am just a big guy and they didnโt want to take a chance.
Iโm all for addressing current issues. Attacking people fors**ttt they had no part of hundreds of years ago is counterproductive.
Defunding the police is moronic. It should be the opposite. We need body cameras on all of them. With enough that they are never off. We need more people that monitor them and review their stats. More psych evals. Maybe even more rotations so some arenโt always in the hardest to police areas all day everyday, even outside monitoring to keep things on the up and up. Defunding them is only going to make those things harder, probably impossible. I imagine bodycams and tech will be what gets cut vs actual cops and guns. So defunding them makes the problem worse. People use emotion instead of their brains. Idiots.

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by chevyav53 on Jun 8, 2020 5:34:50 GMT 1, Ahh the ignorance continues...
Why does Banksy need to write a paragraph to go with the art.... because many are too stupid to understand, even with a paragraph.
Ahh everyone needs to stop saying the N word... no you need to stop saying the N word. Love how white privilege and โmansplainingโ morons are continuing to try to tell black people what they can or canโt do.... still donโt get it do you...
Ohh but my family came after slavery... Ellis island... itโs wasnโt us/me... when was Ellis 1890s-1950s ish... segregation continued into the 70s
All of the ignorant comments are the exact reason the systemic issues have continued. Keep trying to pretend itโs not a problem or that itโs not you. Keep trying when itโs right in front as an image and a paragraph, thatโs exactly why youโre the problem.

Different angles and perspectives we are viewing , i think people are using the last century to explain the profiling and bias made in todays society which over 100 years will still in some form be passed down the generations of families , if you are educated a certain way towards different cultures by your family you will not see the greater difference amongst society Americaโs politics and views and society is slightly different to the United Kingdom so differing views will be had My perspective is the police in general have certain individuals that are not fit to be a police officer and mistreat citizens regardless of race which you are kind of explaining with your experience with the police?

Yeah... Shouldnโt you be out burning down your neighbors business after you steal everything they own? I mean, they are the reason for police brutality. I heard Best Buy got in some new 85โ TVs. Better go protest and take that tv for the cause. It was their fault segregation went into the 70โs. Fucckk those guys and get your tv brah.

Exactly. Police brutality is an issue in its entirety. We need to hold them to account. Defunding them, stabbing, killing them and throwing molotovs isnโt the answer. That is most likely making the cops feel like they have to choose a side. They are people too.
We need to spend money on transparency and removing the bad apples, not defunding them and penalizing everyone for the wrongdoings of the bad apples we need to root out and remove.
Penalizing all for the wrongdoings of the few is not the answer.

Not defending their behaviour
But watch some of the video links I have posted , there are even execution videos carried out by the police which are too much to Post here , these communities are aware of these actions and have to put up with these actions in silence if they talk up and make an official complaint it is dismissed as of their back grounds These continuing actions have been met since the la riots 30โyears ago and are a daily occurrence since as of no video accounts as evidence corrupt police officers would falsify reports and carry on misconduct in their place of work it is only now with the use of smartphones the world is becoming aware of these actions . Unfortunately many have tried the correct route of making an official complaint and this has not achieved anything , these groups are may be uneducated and do not use the use of petitions or have tried and failed They now use protests to create change , the groups rioting mostly have no allegiance to the cause of protests and are solely their to loot but what is happening is the entire race Are seen as looters which is false , there is still peaceful protests but not media worthy

What's your intent with this post? It's just whataboutery. 'There weren't protests around the world about X so why are there protests around the world about Y?' is never a good argument. Yes, it's horrible that East Asian people, or people with East Asian ancestry, are attacked or vilified because idiots think Covid-19 is somehow their fault, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be Black Lives Matter protests. Both deserve support. Don't tell people to do less, encourage them to do more. And if you feel passionately about an issue that you think is not getting the attention it deserves, tell people what you're doing about it and encourage them to join you.

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by drip on Jun 8, 2020 11:47:20 GMT 1, I used to convince myself that listings like that were fake, nobody would end up ultimately paying, or that the buyer was wealthy and stupid, y'know, so I could sleep at night. But now I start fearing that some dude is investing his entire family's trainer money for the month on some dodgy artwork, and the kids will be walking to school in market-job shoes.
AND ANOTHER THING:
Ripping off the work of an artist is NOT a victimless crime. Imagine, you spend your whole artistic life trying to do good, only selling to morally decent people or wealthy evil idiots, only to find some unknown person is now making not exactly small sums of money from YOUR work. Money that you have no way of knowing how it's being used or spent. Suddenly, your work, from your own head, is no longer under your control. It's a violation, it's rude, and something, something, I've gotten distracted, but you get my point.

Being an educated left-leaning centrist from NYC, I hear some stupid ideas and this ranks up there. ๐ Slaves were the backbone of Englandโs Industrial Age (funded by the theft of Latin Americaโs resources), 150 years before slavery hit the US. Slavery the backbone of the development of the US.

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by irl1 on Jun 8, 2020 11:51:50 GMT 1, I used to convince myself that listings like that were fake, nobody would end up ultimately paying, or that the buyer was wealthy and stupid, y'know, so I could sleep at night. But now I start fearing that some dude is investing his entire family's trainer money for the month on some dodgy artwork, and the kids will be walking to school in market-job shoes. AND ANOTHER THING: Ripping off the work of an artist is NOT a victimless crime. Imagine, you spend your whole artistic life trying to do good, only selling to good people or wealthy evil idiots, only to find some unknown person is making not exactly small sums of money from YOUR work. Money that you have no way of knowing how it's being used or spent. Suddenly, your work, from your own hed, is no longer under your control. It's a violation, it's rude, and something, something, I've gotten distracted. What about making money off the back of a murdered person ...........

Username of seller says it all really 'fatwallet13'๐ I liked the days of ebay when you could see the bidders username. As sad as it was, I would spend a lot of my time messaging the highest bidders of fake auctions. Maybe I shouldn't let it get to me as much as it does and maybe it does good for some people to learn the hard way. I suppose in this case, the seller has described the item as a reproduction, but will that 25% ever be donated to charity? I very much doubt it. At least the sellers kids won't be going back to school with their 'market job shoes' ๐

That small donation to charity is surely only there to help their conscience at best. Actually not even sure it's allowed on ebay unless it's done direct with the ebay charity thingy.

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by Rouen Cathedral on Jun 8, 2020 12:54:22 GMT 1, Ahh the ignorance continues... Ellis island... itโs wasnโt us/me... when was Ellis 1890s-1950s ish... segregation continued into the 70s All of the ignorant comments are the exact reason the systemic issues have continued. Keep trying to pretend itโs not a problem or that itโs not you. Keep trying when itโs right in front as an image and a paragraph, thatโs exactly why youโre the problem.
Just commenting on the paragraph part as that I think is tied to the โartโ.
If what you say is the truth then I think the work (the Art) isnโt that good.
Based on your explanation the work will fail if visual and the work will fail if visual and associated with text.
Personally I donโt see this as an artwork. More a political, societal, etc issue proclamation. And thatโs fine.
But as an artwork itโs not the best...

At least the sellers kids won't be going back to school with their 'market job shoes' ๐ Oh gosh, the old days of eBay was like the wild west. When you could see (and contact) the bidders on an item, you could see who would routinely outbid you, build up an enemies list; people would message bidders and offer them a similar item but for less money, tell them it was fake to make them stop bidding, it was amazing. What a time to be alive. Now...meh.
While I like the charities getting some money, the cynic in me (that I fight against on a daily basis) says that sellers use the "20% goes to blind puppies" thing to make more money from their listing. Tug at the heartstrings as well as the wallet. But then I'm jaded.

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by Express Post on Jun 8, 2020 13:15:52 GMT 1, I've got no beef with you.
Just calling out the situation as it is, that's all.
Sooo where were the protestors when the oriental Asians copped racism by the general public across the world at the start of Covid-19? What's your intent with this post? It's just whataboutery. 'There weren't protests around the world about X so why are there protests around the world about Y?' is never a good argument. Yes, it's horrible that East Asian people, or people with East Asian ancestry, are attacked or vilified because idiots think Covid-19 is somehow their fault, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be Black Lives Matter protests. Bothย deserve support. Don't tell people to do less, encourage them to do more. And if you feel passionately about an issue that you think is not getting the attention it deserves, tell people what you're doing about it and encourage them to join you.ย

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by Express Post on Jun 8, 2020 13:24:05 GMT 1, Chinese imperial palace was looted during the Opium Wars because the Chinese banned opium by a couple of british traders.
No one's making the owners return the looted treasures.
But if it was a painting looted by the Nazis, you'll get it back no problems.
That's fked up.
Asians got their owns**t to deal with, but they got powerful and now everybody depends on China.
Otherwise turn in your ipads, iphones and Samsung Galaxies. Practically any computer, laptop or device.
I reckon China would be enslaved if they were geographically closer to europe, and had they not discovered gun powder and have an army. The africans were taken advantage of because they weren't as advanced or organised and could not take care of themselves.
Sooo where were the protestors when the oriental Asians copped racism by the general public across the world at the start of Covid-19? Oriental Asians? Those two words together speak to where you are coming from. Are you equating something 400 years in the making with something 3 months ago? Being an educated left-leaning centrist from NYC, I hear some stupid ideas and this ranks up there. ๐ Slaves were the backbone of Englandโs Industrial Age (funded by the theft of Latin Americaโs resources), 150 years before slavery hit the US. Slavery the backbone of the development of the US.

Banksy's Instagram - Black Lives Matter, by tab1 on Jun 8, 2020 13:43:49 GMT 1, Sooo where were the protestors when the oriental Asians copped racism by the general public across the world at the start of Covid-19?
The black lives movement was started by a black person to start open peaceful discussion for change ,to raise awareness that other racial groups may not be aware of
there is enough people in the population that you describe that if any one person from that group feels offended they can also do the same and set up a group on social media to represent their feelings and educate people on their actions towards their race
each particular race may not be aware of each others tensions and underlying racial bias other groups may not of understood bias that is shown towards other races hence these groups are set up to educate the mass populations
on the other hand you do not have to be from that particular race to start a movement or a cause to raise awareness and to educate people on social media
the internet is free and and has an audience of billions if YOU feel passionately and are deeply concerned by the events which is shown by the posts you have added ,
YOU can be the one person to start the momentum to raise awareness , by starting a social media page
otherwise you are just as bad as the officers that stood around and did absolutely nothing that watched George floyd be killed
in your mind you can see inequalities and are angry about the disparities between the races , you have taken time to raise your thoughts on an art forum, the same time you spend here you can set up a social media page to address your concerns and positively raise awareness and discussions to progress forwards
at present your aims are just to create division, what positives have you bought by your comments ?
