Mr Jago π¬π§ Duncan Jago β’ Graffiti Art β’ Art For Sale, by sohohoho on Dec 13, 2011 22:16:29 GMT 1, curiousgeorge is right, artist's markets do get manipulated but after watching Dolk's market very closely, I whole heartedly agree with af. It's all to do with the Norwegians. I've shipped three over there in the last two months. I couldn't say no. I wouldn't mind two of them back actually, and plan to pick them up cheaper in the future. As soon as the Norwegians have finished stocking up, prices will settle. That's not to say they won't rise again though! Dolk is one of the best stencil artist's around imo. From his unique style to his subjects. He doesn't always get it right but when he does... I just wish he'd choose stronger images for print as I can't afford his OG's. He also gets up for art's sake rather than just to promote a show which is refreshing. Long live Dolk!

Can't see the rationale behind the good folk of Norway suddenly 'waking up' to any artist purely on the basis of nationality. Market manipulation is easier with more niche offerings. Ask James Archer who famously manipulated Skandinavian stock......
I'm on a lost cause on this...anyway facts don't matter. Hundreds of people manipulating Dolk prices on ebay the past months...wiz must be their godfather.

AF I did state I myself sent to Norway and tried to help source other prints for the same guy, Just because it's happening in one country I don't have to believe the hype.Perhaps I would believe it more if it worldwide..

I recently sold a puppy love for around $900 that i had tried to sell numerous times before in the $300-$400 USD range... and guess where it went. Norway. I also sold an invader to Norway recently. So someone is paying big money for prints that used to be pretty easy to come by. . that said I guess I would be a seller right now rather than a buyer of Dolk.

Personally, I'd keep the Mr Jago but that's just my taste. AF seems to put a tangible argument forward but still a bit weird that most sales at recent 'premium' seem to be going to Norway?
