Inspired / taken from the original no doubt.
I actually watched Mr Jago paint my canvas,as you can see from the picture above it was leant against the kitchen cabinet while he painted.
I spent an good few hours with Mr Jago chatting about Star wars, Hip Hop music, art etc.
He smoked his fags, drank his tea and produced the canvas while I watched from behind the breakfast bar like a gobsmacked kid.
The guy is a bloody genuis, I would not be selling this piece if it wasn't for the fact i have another piece by him which I'm pretty sure will never leave my possession.
I think after the show in september he'll be at a whole different level and his profile will surely rise.

StolenSpace are pleased to present the 1st London solo show by artist Mr Jago. This will showcase new work on Canvas, Silk, wood & installations, as well as the release of a new limited edition screen prints.

‘I see figures & form everywhere, in water, carpet patterns, shadows, clouds, everything is an abstract character and they are free’ says Jago.

‘Of all weather phenomena, I find clouds the most fascinating, from the silky filaments of high altitude cirrus to the towering, threatening mass of storm-bearing cumulonimbus, clouds are as varied as the new work itself. I love cloud watching, from no where the fluffy mass morphing shapes from a cunning fox with whispy ears to familiar faces ’.

Apparent in Mr Jago’s work is its loose lines and organic flow; he describes his work as ‘itchy’ and ‘dynamic’, with heavy movement and life, always searching for a new arrangement of lines. Robotic
characters, and multi-layered landscapes feature heavily. The free flowing strokes and organic colours in Mr Jago’s paintings explore the ideas of space and depth in the landscapes and whilst the fast lines in his work attempt to make subject seem alive and animated.

12th - 28th September

Preview night next Thursday the 11th. Open invite so no doubt the usual London faces will be about!

Many hours spent in the preperation and co ordination for this show which will surely be a huge success for all involved.
