Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by teabaggins on Sept 7, 2020 20:43:05 GMT 1, Martin whatson prints sell for 1500. Noir is more than a street art pioneer than him. Mrs banksy canvas are the same price. I can only think people talking down prices do not own or own enough. I own several of his canvases that were purchased over the years as reminders of travel Id done. I like his work for that reason. That doesnβt mean I have to agree with his perceived value. Having a vested interest doesnβt mean you have to live in an echo chamber. Being a pioneer isnβt enough.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Street Collector on Sept 7, 2020 21:16:45 GMT 1, The work just isnβt all of a sudden worth these prices. Are they all of a sudden more complex, interesting, challenging than 2 months ago. No.... are they all of a sudden less repetitive or now something more than nostalgic? No. Spending Β£1500 on this print is like dropping Β£1500 on an ABBA ticket. Now there will always be some that do what they are told and buy it anyway.
Before it was just as great as it is now, just that some did not know how to see that they had a first-rate artist in front of them. There he was generously for everyone and some poor people were able to buy some work. We can criticize him for his generosity. Does anyone know an artist of the Thierry level who sells the originals at the price he sold? Many of us would like to know, please tell us. For me what was strange was the old thing, it has only suddenly been at a normal price for an artist like that, it is still not expensive. Could the price explode? Many artists 100 times less interesting than him ascended to heaven.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by tab1 on Sept 7, 2020 21:27:06 GMT 1, So he's leaving prints up for only 3-10 minutes before pulling the pin each time purely to inflate demand, while not making any money along the way? For someone who's been around so long, that's a risky (and unlikely) strategy.Β The guy's making hay.Β The forum's battling FOMO. I donβt think itβs that risky? He was barely selling originals for Β£100 three months ago. Normally people on here snag something during a drop - not seen many people come forward saying that theyβd βcopped a Β£1400 printβ. Whatever his mgmt company have done has clearly created a demand. Just feels a little bit like nick walker in 07/08.
When you look at nick walkers pieces now and read how much people paid For them in the hey day π€―π₯΄π€π€

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by rosac on Sept 7, 2020 21:43:55 GMT 1, Considering this thread is mainly about money, and conspiracy theory's about fake sales I honestly think Thierry is making the most of βhis timeβ in the limelight. Considering the prices and speed he was selling works for before now he must have been sick of seeing the huge stik demand and prices. Cant blame the guy for wanting to make a few quid. Nearly everyone had enough chance to buy when he was super cheap.
The sales technique is weird and I can see how it could be a bit off putting to people that missed out at the low levels.. but soon Iβm sure there will be no old stock left. And letβs see whatβs the prices are for the forthcoming big shows
Ps I donβt think he is on the same level as stik. But I do think he was hugely undervalued.

Thatβs a 2015 charity auction. People keep using this as an example of Noirβs performance at auction, erroneously.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Deleted on Sept 8, 2020 7:00:36 GMT 1, Don't waste your time with guessing riddles.Something like Noir will happen more often, sometimes it's good sometimes it's not, the demand for street art is getting stronger and stronger, China (but let's not forget Emirates etc., China is very colourful and loud (typical noir market, maybe), Emirates is a slightly different direction). You will see if we thought right or not, after the first Sold Out show with a full house in Hong Kong, I wish Thierry and all of you the same.Let's hope that Hong Kong remains independent, otherwise this art market will collapse very quickly and everyone will sit on their Asian art.
Ok, what are we going to do now that we are the self-proclaimed explorers of Noir and he has run out of most of the price range, we need other icons to discover. How about Ben Vautier (oh shit Cornbread wasn't the first writer after all) lol or do we take Harald Naegeli. There are so many very good artists out there, there's enough for everyone! There is always someone who is better than Stik and yes there is also someone who is better than Banksy ... start digging, take the shovel in your own hand and don't waste your time evaluating market prices. In 10 years we'll look in here and our kids will be writing, look at this Dface, Faile, Goin, Nick Walker they are artists with history they are icons you have to buy and we'll laugh ourselves to death, just like the real noir collectors do now. We have overlooked some artists, but some have recognized it. Instead of studying market prices, study collector circles and whether you like the art. Whoever buys a recognised artist today will not make a loss in 30 years, so stay cool and don't buy kitsch. And i learn better english ... have a nice day and all the best

User 3***8 will always remain the highest bidder at each level is their maximum is higher.
Unless you have two accounts, I didn't think it was possible to push bids up on ebay.
