Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Deleted on Feb 15, 2021 8:00:24 GMT 1, An artist using Instagram to try to pump ebay sales of their own work is just embarrassing.
This whole effort to artificially inflate his market has been amateurish and embarrassing.

I would say it is not the artist himself, it is his management who is doing this. The management is running the Instagram account not Thierry himself. I have the feeling, that he is completely controlled and driven by them. That is really sad to see, as I think, he has a very interesting and Long history as an Street Artist especially in Germany. What we all forget are artists like Kiddy Citny, Christophe Bouchet ( RIP ) both did also a great or even a greater job at the Berlin Wall. From Kiddy for example the GDR sold a long wall piece directly to the MoMA in New York. For me an artist who kept his style, and his classy and is not only thinking how he can make the Money out of his art.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by ubl on Feb 15, 2021 11:37:24 GMT 1, Its true that hes probably not managing his Instagram account himself, Id say its Artdelight if I were to take a wild guess. Tbf his prices went up 10 fold in 2020 its only normal for them to go down a bit.

I don't know anything about his management, but it's not looking very professional at the moment. They're making a respected artist look cheap and money-grubbing. Like you say, sad to see.

Yeah agree with you, he should have the full control about. Sadly he doesnβt have this, he is controlled by them and his wife... Also we should never forget, that Bouchet was the man himself, who took Thierry as his pupil, without Bouchet no Thierry Noir. Maybe the British UAA members here could explain me why for them Noir is the great man from the Berlin Wall painters, why not Kiddy Citny or Christophe Bouchet? This is for my personal interesting, as I think in Germany he is not so big compared to the UK. Happy to receive your feedback on this. π

You can find many of his pieces all over the city (like in front of the Berlin Mall or Spreebogen Mall). Maybe he is a bit more mainstream compared to Kiddy Citny or Christophe Bouchet? But I absolutely agree that there would be no Noir without Bouchet.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by tab1 on Feb 15, 2021 16:29:19 GMT 1, The way the limited work is released in staged singularly limited drops and the prices inflated has worked short term .
No major shows or work added into any major collections yet overnight the prices increased with out any basis and a lot of members here bought into the hype generated.seems to copy stiks marketing business module consistently but instead of posting auctions house results using eBay results
Almost similar to pejacs market over inflation in worth overnight
The only problem here is that there is a lot of work previously sold in the 100-Β£300 price range that people are starting to list for sale now well under the official source release prices and items are struggling to sell which is having a knock on effect to the new marketing strategy with already mentioned private sellers being contactedπ

If your based in Guinea ? Your doomed! No rush to buy, Thierry prices will stay the same but unless itβs a specific image you want you probably will be able to pick up cheaper from eBay in the near future

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by The Italian One on Feb 18, 2021 9:54:45 GMT 1, I'll try make a long story short after waiting for more than 9 month for a commissioned canvas from Thierry noir
-Ordered a canvas (50x70 for 1680 gbp)back in June when all the print and little head canvas where available for 1/10 of the today price which I wanted to buy but went for the canvas. Paid the invoice immediately after I agreed with the studio colors size and style. delivery date was agreed between September and October.
- August/September; Thierry Noir prices started to raise and no more prints were available on the shop.
-October; I received an email asking if I can upgrade the work to bigger size (I'll had to add "only" 4k gbp) because of the "body of work" Thierry was doing at the moment. Meanwhile he was selling small canvas on his website for over 3k. I refused to upgrade the commission (from here I started to smell something wrong).
- November; I've been accused to flip a Mr doodle print (which I never sold and still have) and because of that they put my commission in jeopardy.
From this point on every time I asked for an update the reply was "at some point" or "we don't know yet" etc.etc. until few weeks ago when tired of being fooled I asked for a refund.
Well... obviously I've been drove to cancel the commission because they do not want to do it anymore for this kind of money even if it is completely unprofessional and shameless for an artist and from what I can see Thierry Noir's studio is not doing a good job (advertising eBay listing or auction lot) promoting his art.
Hence I'm really upset to see an other great Artist managed so badly; the other side of the coin is that after I've been treat this way I was very happy to receive a refund.

Hence I'm really upset to see an other great Artist managed so badly; the other side of the coin is that after I've been treat this way I was very happy to receive a refund. sorry to hear that mate .... Iβd keep your money .... only one way for noir at the moment .... if the eBay sales that heβs plugging dive ... is he going to change his prices accordingly?? Dangerous game !!!
I'll try make a long story short after waiting for more than 9 month for a commissioned canvas from Thierry noir -Ordered a canvas (50x70 for 1680 gbp)back in June when all the print and little head canvas where available for 1/10 of the today price which I wanted to buy but went for the canvas. Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by tab1 on Feb 18, 2021 10:34:31 GMT 1, Itβs a long game if the eBay listings fail to sell as he can still hold these prices as he only needs to sell one or two pieces to match the price of sales of 10-20 pieces which probably took a year to sell before prices appreciated in value

I think the problem is the person running things is doing so (hiding) under the name Thierry Noir studio but I'm not convinced Thierry is totally aware of how it's being done. Obviously the money is coming in so he's going to be happy and may not question the way his art is being sold. Not sure if it's true but the guy from his old Shoreditch gallery has been mentioned by a few people.
It's a shame because Thierry has worked hard for years to build his reputation as an artist and it's being put at risk by what appears to be an inexperienced art person playing silly games. Possibly without the artist's knowledge.

100% agree
I don't know Thierry in person but I'm sure he must be a good man. But his studio is under his name.
