International Art Centre Auctions • New Zealand, by irl1 on Jun 24, 2020 9:59:12 GMT 1, Hi,
Thank you for your email and your advise on following up confirmation from Pest Control - I have followed up with them today.
I will forward you a condition report for each of these works separately. Please also note on your forum that we have full confidence in these being authentic Banksy prints and will be offering a full money back guarantee to the successful bidder if for any reason they are not approved. I am hoping to have confirmation before the auction though.
The current owner purchased these from Pictures on Walls in 2005. He has since lost his receipts and never requested a certificate of authenticity from Pest Control.
Condition reports will follow. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Regards Maggie Skelton

Hi,
Please note that we will guarantee a refund only to the amount of the high estimate ($20,000) plus buyer’s premium. This is only in the unlikely event that authenticity is not approved by Pest Control. We have been in contact with them though and am hoping we get confirmation before the sale date. We will be in touch should this confirmation come through.
All the best to you as well.
Regards
Maggie Skelton

Very soon Banksy editions will only be for the wealthy or people trading up. Its nearly there as it is.
At the moment most people can only buy box sets, wall sections, posters etc. I can see the Editions slowing down after this year and the lower-end moving up which I already see in auctions.

Agree but if you take out middle to high earners who were buying Banksy editions then the market drops considerably. I'm not saying all these will drop out but a lot will.
Canvas editions, Grappling Hooks and the like should continue to grow but I really think the paper print editions will slow down after this year.

Aye you might be right but a quick review of historic posts in this forum alone will show that it's littered with comments from years gone by along the lines that these prices cant go higher or they are crazy etc but apart from the occasional slow down or stagnant period, prices have generally gone up.
As people are priced out of the market, they get replaced by newer richer people or people who cash in on what they own to fund a different print or whatever. I don't know if the folks who are buying now are those who would have purchased gold in times of impending economic crisis as the current market seems a bit madder than it has been in recent times, even for unsigned tatt as Bob would call it.

International Art Centre Auctions • New Zealand, by needfoolthings on Jul 11, 2020 19:53:07 GMT 1, I can remember when I first came on to this forum when it was the Banksyforum. I ended up buying this Banksy IFTL unsigned piece for $1000 which seemed crazy at the time. Signed Banksy was only 2-3k USD.
I spent my 13 dollar an hour chef money to buy It just because his work at the time captured me as it did so many others. My wife thought I was on some Jack and the Beanstalk shit.. turns out golden eggs are really real
I remember reading a quite from him once saying that people are sometimes inclined to invest in “butterflies” rather than stocks. I’m my opinion ..Both may go up or down but these are the ones I want to hold onto.
I’m into precious metals and art.. of which my art outpaced even gold I own. Banksy has an average of 50-100% growth a year Blue chips..

Further to the recent sales success of Banksy prints, we are delighted to announce a further offering along with Pest Control authentication. Also of international interest are two works by Damien Hirst.
______
Two Banksy prints up for auction. Both Unsigned POW prints. When I spoke to them last week they mentioned that these were awaiting COA from PC. Note that the estimates have increased when compared to the auction back in June where all 3 pieces were estimated between $15-$20k NZD. Soup is now $40-$50k.
The Banksy prints that sold for eye-watering amounts back in June from the same auction house have yet to receive their COAs.
