Agree, and I am a big fan of these decks- but comparing them to anything that is numbered and can be issued a PC cert is just silly. Id probably pay $1,000 for the clown deck specifically but I wouldn't personally throw anything more than that at any Banksy collectible that isn't eligible for Pest Control- be it a poster, record, skatedeck, etc

I guess Iโd probably put them on a par with GDP hand out prints, welcome mats and Boxsets. Undoubtedly Banksy involvement in some capacity but carried out by others.
Presumably Banksy and his legal team would have been aware of these by now and challenged that there was an agreement in place for these to be produced if that was the case.
Obviously never going to be eligible for a COA but maybe Banksy approved or endorsed would be more apt.
Happy to trade mine for a signed Nola though....just saying

For example if I were to stumble across an old Banksy acetate and start screen printing my own prints would that make them official Banksyโs? I get that by all accounts these have been authorised but it just feels to me like the actual work is being carried out by a different organisation (hence my comparison to welcome mats etc)
Again just my opinion and I certainly wouldnโt shoot anyone else for having their own.

You are debating with an individual that has one of these skate decks from the original release many moons ago and has purchased the recent release , so it is in best interest to see how valuable these were for banksys career

Iโve been looking for the original decks for many years, tracked down a Clown Skateboards promotional CD and sticker many years ago and posted a pic here of it in 2008.
I am fully aware and understand the significance of Clown to Banksyโs career. These decks are awesome, I am happy to see this project happening, I hope I am lucky enough to get decks next month, I will happily pay double retail for them.
Would I take a set of these 2020 decks over a Flags print? Hell no.
