Christie's Art Auctions , by Brushstrokes 75 on Apr 19, 2012 17:15:42 GMT 1, I haven't watched the end of the auction as I wasn't really interested in anything.
However, here are the results :
212 ยฃ1,800 214 Unsold
I know for a fact that they put pretty high reserve prices (comparing to other auction houses).

Some very surprising results there. I reckon you could get an us monkey queen for 600 squid two years ago....insane price!

The Smiling Copper is owned by Christie's...they have deliberately set the bar low to reel in the punters.
Without doubt these Banksy pieces have been way under valued - deliberately. And I wouldn't even enter the race unless I have at least double the money in my bank account...(which I don't!)

Interesting auction. Almost all lots sold for bottom end of estimates (except KH's which flew). A 2metre very low edition Banksy at ยฃ18,000 hammer price is an absolute bargain for someone who likes that image.
Dreweatt's struggled to sell anything at a respectable price at it's last auction...is this a sign of the times...or just blip?
I guess we will find out when Frieze hits London next month.

Christie's Art Auctions , by Simococo on Sept 12, 2012 18:28:42 GMT 1, I think the GWB at just shy of 60k is very fair and the Copper hitting 22.5k shouldn't be too surprising as the image has rarely commanded high auction prices. 24.7k euros on the last outing.

Helpful bit of context re previous prices on this piece. That said look what a Paranoid canvas went for a while back which was a huge jump up from previous sales so its pretty hard to know what the benchmark for pieces is these days
