Banksy Copyright© & Trademark™, by iamzero on Sept 17, 2020 12:53:50 GMT 1, I still don’t understand how this is all possible? I create an image and clearly the world can see it’s mine. Yet another company can claim the rights to selling my image on for profit. While in other news a car or clothing company can’t use a legitimate image of their product because in the background is a piece a graffiti artist painted illegally for fun.
What am I missing?

Banksy Copyright© & Trademark™, by tab1 on Sept 17, 2020 12:59:35 GMT 1, On eBay there are hundreds of knock off items for sale. Every week there are dozens of copy products in small auction houses around the world, I cannot see what difference this is going to make. The comment that this is "devastating for the artist" is farcical. No one on here is going to buy tat from Full Colour Black.
The company owns the image and rights
Any litas needing a pest control certificate after the day of copyright judgement Can they still apply ?
The new gdp litas made during the Court dispute , Will they have to be withdrawn or will banksy need to pay the card company a percentage for use of the image ?
The other gdp items are new images so hopefully banksy applies copyright to the other images .
A lot of money to be made in licensing the rights to others

Without being present for the case details from court and reading from the news outlets Banksy presented as a graffiti artist , displaying art illegally without owners permission On public and private buildings , which is a criminal public order offense , which the defense would disclose with the internet webtrail. Which although famous for his artwork the judge will have a different view His works have been selling for hundreds of thousands of gdp since 2006 and even a millions since 2009 and as noted all the history of knock off items on the web since 2005 And Unaffiliated shows around the World since 2006 the banksy team Had not put in place a copyright challenge until 2013 And had not used the lita image until gdp commercially Mr brainwash has been using the same image for the past 10 years ? And not challenged on a grand commercial scale and profiting
The card company is onto a winner
Will have a knock on effect and the company will now seek other images to gain control of the copyright

Plenty of time to had put the business in order and protect the images Jo brooks needs a salary reduction😮
Insiders knew shortcomings of the case , hence all the recent auctions ? Will be interesting to see auction results over the next few months

Banksy Copyright© & Trademark™, by silvermyn on Sept 17, 2020 13:38:41 GMT 1, If Banksy wanted to put these people out of business all he had to do was set up an online shop and sell merchandise to the public. Call is Gross Domestic Product perhaps, or Bbay.
But that's not the business that Banksy is in. GDP pretended to sell unlimited editions to the public but it was all a lottery, answers to a question, and no unlimited merchandise in the form of t-shirts, mugs or plates unless you were "selected" to buy one of the small number available. If they want to change that they can, but they won't because selling cheap merchandise is not what they want to spend their time doing.
The Soup Can posters for £10 each from POW was the first example I can remember of cheap unlimited Banksy product and we've seen a similar model followed with Peckham Rock. It all just went a bit off concept with GDP. Will we ever see anything like the Soup Can posters again? Unlikely but you never know. Dropshipping is a thing now.

Posted earlier in the thread , licensing is a valuable asset and the card company is set for a bumper pay day with all the interest in banksy of recent and the average person unable to afford original banksy items let alone original posters the mass products they can manufacture with the copyright applied many will think they are buying a genuine banksy

It's still just a museum postcard. Many more and bigger blue chip artists sell these everywhere. Bit wierd putting value on them. Smacks of desperation.
