Invader Versailles Print , by Inknart on Jan 4, 2019 0:51:35 GMT 1, Oh I hope all the invader flippers get burned. 2000 for a nice invader print that was 1700 on release isn't exactly a flip. I'm sure a year from now when the market is dry these will look like the best deals ever.
just like everyone on here 3 weeks ago saying the new kit wouldn't fetch more than 3500, most are gone already from the initial release.
Seller also says he is accepting offers.
No idea on what Brantley pieces go for as I don't collect so cannot comment.

First art purchase of 2019. You deserve it. Plus considering retail was $1700 .. 2k isnโt bad.

tho i like invaders stuff i do agree 1700 for the image is just...branding of the name... A la Supreme. Though as long as there is a market. If this same image was released by,let's say munk1, no one would even consider it because there is no meat on the bone..i know plenty of collectors who buy this and jerkfaces based on hype$ and not particularly cuz of the image, tho they may like it, but if it had another name on it they wouldn't consider it. *shrugs*

i agree as well, but not 1700 agree..for this image. There's a line that needs to be drawn by the consumers. To each it's own tho'.

And I realize most hate. But I for one enjoy the Zelda, 8 bit video game feel along with the hidden invader, and the decent size and embossing...

I guess i'm one of the people who disagrees and really like this image, it has even grown on me more since picking it up. Looking forward to getting creative with framing at some point this year. I may try to find a nice old mirror and gut it to make a frame for this print if i can find one that compliments well enough and do a circular glass frame and matte.

"it has even grown on me more since picking it up" the longer you listen, the sweeter the pitch..saying can be adapted to visual stimuli. Before I buy I ask myself "if xyz was the artist, would you still buy?" One of the many fail safe questions I ask myself to prevent impulse buying

Invader Versailles Print , by aibohphobia on Jan 4, 2019 20:34:16 GMT 1, Thanks for discussion on this one. I do agree that it wasn't the strongest image but overall the print is incredibly solid. I was in line for all 4 drops and can say the entire thing was a wild expensive ride. This one is pretty underrated and really resonates with some people.
Stole these closeups from someone else but they are really good and show how clean and bold this print is.

Ok. I can see how things written online can be read differently than intended.
Sure. This very well could be a bubble but we are all adults here. We accept the consequences of our actions and purchases.
Invader is an incredibly popular artist. His followers are obsessive, widespread, and dedicated. His prints may not speak to everyone but I can see there being more than 300 people in the world who would want that mirror print. We shall see.

Majority of the people that bought his recent releases were flippers, am I right? If there were 300 real collectors trying to add these to their collection prices won't be trending down. Enjoy making that $500 2-3 years down the road. Definitely killed it lol

You have me mistaken; I am a genuine collector. Invader's show in Los Angeles gave me an opportunity to purchase his prints at cost. I waited hours for his first release and I agree: most of the people in line were flippers. During the course of his show, Invader released 7 prints and 1 kit. Most of his collectors are not in a financial position to immediately purchase 7 of his prints and a kit, even at retail cost. You may be absolutely right that these prints only fetch $500 over retail 3 years from now- or even less. Invader may continue to release more prints in 2019. I think his collectors are not only recovering from their recent purchases but also exercising restraint in case he's decided to rival Shepard Fairey's print release schedule. We shall see.

Invader Versailles Print , by Fast Eddie on Jan 6, 2019 4:40:07 GMT 1, The 8bit pixellation really shows wonderfully in the gold embossing of the print. The Sunset Gold also carries that, with a stronger image, in my opinion. To a certain extent gold is really not a color for the street and Street Art tends to use it systematically to denigrate museum art (think of Banksy's frames). That could have been part of the decision of going for these specific images in these releases.

Everyone collect in a different way, for a different purpose. Stepping back on this 7-prints+1-kit period, I think one of the source of frustration is not the number of prints released but that some collectors like to own everything from a given popular artist. In such case, the releases made nearly impossible for someone to get them all at cost. I see the 7 prints as 3 actually, with their variants. 3 prints released as part of "US tour" is not that shocking. If I remember well, he released 3 prints as well in HK (kungfu, explosion, scooter). So it's probably not to be seen as an acceleration of release but more the way OTI and Invader handles his exhibition.

Invader Versailles Print , by 19818914 on Jan 6, 2019 5:17:43 GMT 1, You have me mistaken; I am a genuine collector. Everyone collect in a different way, for a different purpose. To be clear. Iโm not against what Invader and OTI did- with exception to how the complex con release went down. I was responding to his point that if there were collectors that wanted the new prints, then prices would be going up and not down. A bunch of prints-variants were released- and then the essential kit came along. People are depleted of funds and some of the resellers are desperate for their money back. Prices go down because of this but itโs only temporarily unless the releases keep coming.

And just checked sold listing on ebay with 0 under 4k.

Invader Versailles Print , by Inknart on Apr 17, 2019 17:48:20 GMT 1, Not sure how something a 4 year old can remake in a sitting is worth 4k? I'm not sure why you need to s**t on peoples sales threads? It's rude and uncalled for.
Seriously, it's getting ridiculous how many people on here feel the need to try and berate everything.
It's not your place to add your opinion within my Sales Thread. If you want to add your opinion on a piece or artist go to there sub category and start a discussion.
$3999 USD is the price i'm asking. I paid $4219 with receipt. Price is firm and fair as far as i'm concerned.
