still can't understand how these art 'experts' allowed this shredded canvas to go mouldy

at some point, post shredding you could see black mould growing upwards from the shredded area. I think the first time I noticed it was when it was being displayed in Germany. You can see the black mould in the above photo. What a nightmare, hopefully it's somewhat treatable

For comparison, they have a GSB split canvas ed. 25 on display which I'm sure was listed as £2m

The reserve for this 'iconic' piece is pretty low IMO

I think this has become a truly iconic piece, pure rock and roll vandalism in front of the stiff upper lip crowd!! Who on this planet doesn’t know about it, it’s one of the most famous pieces of this century to date…even the (many) Banksy haters on this Forum cannot disagree.

Personally I love it and it was being offered for private sale a while ago (I cannot find the email) and was about £10m. My assumption is it didn’t find a home with the select few it was offered to then but I cannot see why it won’t achieve that in the worldwide arena today…and I hope it does and good luck too!!!

Never heard of other "test" versions... although bound to be some I'd assume. He must have tried it out a few times to see if it would work.

I assume this refers to Banksy's video where he showed several tests of the shredder in his studio with the artwork shredding in its entirety every time.
