I wonder if there are pieces Banksy has done that never get posted because someone saw him doing them- and if he posted it was him then they would know what he looked like.
Like the Extinction Rebellion piece- he never claimed it but everyone knew it was his.

I also say the bike was placed. Whoever the artist, sees a bike there in that condition and then decided to go home and stencil an idea hoping the bike would still be there when they were finished? Doesn't make much sense. Waste of time if the bike was gone...

He usually scouts an area- takes a pic of what it looks like and then goes and creates the work around it. He comes back some time later and places the work there. I'm sure he saw the bike missing a tire and came back a few days later.

Having quickly skimmed through the thread, I am puzzled by some of the comments claiming this piece isn't by Banksy, or expressing serious doubt regarding attribution.
Assuming just for the sake of argument that such comments were made in good faith, what they suggest to me is a lack of familiarity with the artist's work. And on multiple counts โ the main ones being:
(i) overall aesthetic or style;
(ii) subject matter;
(iii) tone / sentiment;
(iv) thoughtfulness, cleverness, playfulness and humour (including of placement);
(v) technical execution; and
(vi) artistic process, medium and palette.
To my mind at least, this being the work of Banksy is self-evident.
