Goodies you forgot you had.., by met on Oct 23, 2020 7:53:36 GMT 1, Back in 2013, during Banksy's Better Out Than In show, I purchased a 'Graffiti Is A Crime' metal sign. I tucked it away and forgot about it, pulled it out recently to check it out... looks identical to the sign that was part of the piece. Anybody know anything about this? Anybody else have one?
There are similarities — but only when comparing your purchase against a low-res context photo of the Banksy, just as you're trying to do now.
In reality, the pieces are far from identical.
This looks to me like poetic justice.
Here is the narrative:
An individual believed they were buying a single part of a larger work that was immediately ruined when that part of it was stolen. They were therefore happy to encourage and condone the destruction / theft of street art when it was in their selfish interest.
That individual ends up getting both duped and ripped off by a fraudster, who actually sold them a fake "stolen" piece.
It's a rather satisfying story. I find it almost uplifting.
EDIT:
A mea culpa should be added if your intentions were misread by me.
The metal sign may well have been sold in multiples as a commemorative-style knockoff — i.e. not actually misrepresented as the genuine piece. The text reference at its base, "Banksy Better Out Than In", would suggest this.
If that is indeed the case, then please accept my apologies.

You can always tell yourself what I say to my hubby when I tuck away his stuff and he is manically trying to find them: "hon we haven't lost anything, it's just that you cannot find it!" 😁😁😁 (it drives him crazy)

If that is indeed the case, then please accept my apologies. Yeah, I was well aware that that this was not the original when I bought it. It was part of a replica run that I bought as a souvenir for my daughter to commemorate our Banksy hunting adventure in NYC. You're edit is the correct version of the story.

Goodies you forgot you had.., by concrete jungle on Oct 24, 2020 15:47:26 GMT 1, Hi - having a look through a few boxes from storage. Anyone know anything about the two POW cards? One has the Heavy Weaponary blind stamp. Also wondered about the date of the POW stickers - early or later. Think I recollect the Kate stamp being 'tat'. Found an early Andipa catalogue too - don't see these often these days. Any info appreciated.

Goodies you forgot you had.., by F*X on Oct 24, 2020 18:38:24 GMT 1, The POW card with the number 215 and the Heavy Weaponary stamp were given to the people in the Q for the No Ball Games in 2009. The number is the print number you would get at the till. The Choose Your Weapon Card was from the 2010 print release. As you entered POW after queuing you selected the colour you wanted ard were given the card. You then presented this when you got to the till and paid. It enabled POW to manage the colour ways that were left/available.

Would look great framed next to a mini slinkachu from BRP. Cheers for that info. Sadly I have neither print - picked these up as a POW bundle off eBay a long time ago. Liking your thoughts on it being the cheapest unsigned Banksy print 😜 Actually have a Slink 'Close shave' mini framed up already so might just add this to a mini frame as well - good call! Had a quick look on eBay - someone is selling a couple of different colour ways of the CYW card for £350 each! Completely nuts and looks like someone has purchased one of them already (although via an offer so no idea how much it actually went for) Think I paid about £3.50 back in the day!

One of the round ones sold on ebay this week for £16 or so. Cheers for that info. Picked the round ones up with the purchase of a Trolleys back in the day. No idea where the square one came from. Seem to remember a substantial box of these sitting about freely handed out - definitely different colours available too; luck of the draw. Never really thought they would have any value; also discovered a load of early Stella Dore shiny stickers and random POW and Laz postcards.....

I tucked it away and forgot about it, pulled it out recently to check it out... looks identical to the sign that was part of the piece. Anybody know anything about this? Anybody else have one? There are similarities — but only when comparing your purchase against a low-res context photo of the Ban ksy, just as you're trying to do now. In reality, the pieces are far from identical. This looks to me like poetic justice. Here is the narrative: An individual believed they were buying a single part of a larger work that was immediately ruined when that part of it was stolen. They were therefore happy to encourage and condone the destruction / theft of str eet art when it was in their selfish interest.
If that is indeed the case, then please accept my apologies.Yeah, I was well aware that that this was not the original when I bought it. It was part of a replica run that I bought as a souvenir for my daughter to commemorate our Banksy hunting adventure in NYC. You're edit is the correct version of the story.
Thank you for the clarification with accompanying photos. And sorry again for my initial mixup regarding your motives.
I should also mention that the poised, non-defensive tone of your reply was refreshing as well as appreciated.
