I still think an Artist is something very different from a brand, or even just a designer, although for some (or many) works he might definitely need help from assistants (i.e. people helping, not making the whole job).
I believe there must still be some craftmanship to be Art, for that reason I don't think the example with architects is very fitting, but just my opinion; anyway I somehow agree that Art shifted towards something completely different, much much closer to advertising.

I think we are both agreeing, maybe brand was the wrong word although the whole of GDP was to effectively protect the brand Banksy.
I myself am 'just a designer' 
I do believe he is an artist 100%, I was nearly pointing out that an artist doesn't necessarily create every piece himself. There were so many different mediums at the Bristol Museum show that 1 person couldn't have made them all, but 1 person could have conceived them all.
The comments on the daily mail article say it all, lots of people don't realise that an artist doesn't have to physically create every piece him/herself to be by that artist.

And it will come super cheap. Like those magazines you could buy to build an amazing model car or something. Issue 1 for 99p, issues 2-50 a fiver each...

MONKEY PRINT BABY!!!! The print will be released by @stowegllery On FRIDAY 13th ๐ฑ The standard print is a tad bigger than A2 and is ยฃ250+ VAT in an edition of only 250 plus some APโs We have a huge version too and details of that will be on the website on the day. If you have any questions contact the good people at Stowe Gallery. We had a lot of discussions about price and settled on the cost of one of my normal prints even though the demand for this one is huge, I didnโt want anyone to miss out so we have kept it as low as we possibly could. Thank you all for your support and interest, means a lot!
