Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by JAlternatiรณn on Nov 10, 2020 0:12:52 GMT 1, 2 possible scenarios:
1) Mason was part of the Banksy collective that created Monkey Parliament and for some reason has decided to break rank (and certainly an NDA), as well as making it so he surely could never be in the collective again,so that he can sell out a print
2) Mason wasn't part of the Banksy collective that created Monkey Parliament, and has copied the image so that he can sell out a print.

Thatโs what it seems to me. Depending on which it is would change how I feel about the piece.

1. For me. ( got sourced criticizing MS taking too much. Contracts are rigorous )
But one upon a time? Iโm not god, just talking and playing the game.

Out of interest, could I ask why?
To me the only difference between those scenarios is the potential future value of the print if indeed it is proven that Mason was involved in the original Banksy piece.
Neither scenario takes away from the fact that this is a highly skilled work of art, be it from the โoriginalโ artist or in fact a good copy. Surely if you like the art for what it is, then buy it and enjoy it. If not, move on.
Just my view on this, not looking for an argument, just genuinely interested in this point of view.

Could you speak French or English if you please ? I no that SMS broken English langage is hype but on this forum (?rules of proboards ) you have to write with words. Otherwise could not answer to your sarcasms or I donโt know why ... not fair then

As I know and read about Banksy ( first years ) and his first mates painting/working with ( I wonโt tell names but they already know that they donโt sell so much their art with their actual artist names, and reckon that itโs only under Banksy โs brand that they could have value or being known ) . So, if itโs not stamped Banksy ( it wonโt never be ), they can sell their artworks only under their names and playing with secrecy and/or rumors. So, as I said, people will buy a Mason Storm, not A Banksy anyway. And โMason knows โ about that. I just donโt know why people On here are a bit exhausted about Mason and his artwork ?

To me itโs more about what is art. As weโre all here I think we can agree itโs not the technical skill of urban art that draws us here but the concepts and narratives behind each piece. For this monkey parliament piece if this is a copy of somebody elseโs work it isnโt of interest to me. I could buy something technically better if that was whatโs important. However if this is actually Masons art then Iโd like to support it as itโs a great piece. I hope this makes sense?

Thank you for a well thought out response. I have looked at many of Masons works and personally I like them. He is not a street artist which is probably why he gets so much hate on here, but for what itโs worth I think heโs a genuinely talented artist. If a lesser known artist wants to use the hype of a rumour to boost their own profile, then I say fair play to the guy. Banksy has got more than his fair share of the pie, so Iโm happy to support the little guy. One thing is for sure, I will never be able to display the Banksy on my wall, so Iโm more than happy to pay ยฃ300 to have this up. At least I know he painted it, maybe itโs a copy of the original, but a lot more effort has gone into this than most of the โfakesโ you see out there. And if it turns out he did paint the original, then thatโs a nice story to have behind the piece. Those that are buying this for its perceived connection to Banksy in the hopes up flipping for profit should think again as there will be no future value to this in my opinion.

Just asking .. Are you Banksy or close to ( I m not mocking nor making any irony, nor trying to investigate, but you seem sure of yourself )...
Anyway it's a Mason Storm artwork, what I am saying since the beginning. And it's a bit intersting .. Mason never pretended to be Damien Hirst, or another great genius artist, in fact he is mocking a certain art too. As Banksy did it for some masterpiece museum, him he is parodying too Banksy.
You know artists as Gonefellow , Ted, Jps , Outis ( well... ) , Mrs Banksy or Bambi ( well welle well ) ... erm ) are all fan of Banksy even if they make controversial ( some good some others not ) artworks.
What is a shitwalker ( I tried to translate it just found that in Urban dictionnary : " A term used frequently by Mr. Lahey, Sunnyvale Trailer Park Supervisor from the Trailer Park Boys. Usually used to instill fear in the boys, mainly Bubbles. Lahey: I'm watching you boys, like a Shit Hawk. A Shit Hawk.
Bubbles: Julian, what's a Shit Hawk?!
Julian: Don't worry about him. He's just drunk. "
Have a nice day !

Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by Rubberneck on Nov 10, 2020 11:49:00 GMT 1, So for what its worth here's my opinion..
Mason was attributed to be the real painter of Devolved Parliament in this article:-
creativefolk.co.uk/who-really-painted-banksys-devolved-parliament/
this was subsequently picked up by The Daily Heil on Sunday referred to in this article:-
creativefolk.co.uk/in-the-spotlight-with-mason-storm/ (no click bait from me, you're welcome)
As you can see from the creative folk article and Mason's insta posts at the time he was more than happy to imply or attribute himself to being the real painter of Devolved Parliament
As we have seen in Met's fantastically detailed posts Mason has prior form in parodying Banksy or using that twisted green envious bitterness of another artists success as his creative driving force in creating work.
Stowe Gallery/ Marchant Group also have questions to answer in terms of previous shite/ outright fakes sold. As understand it they have now stopped selling this shite after rightly forced into a forum walk of shame.
Is Mason Storm his real name? Unlikely
Was he part of team Banksy and has broken an NDA... well if he wasn't then there would be no NDA to break.
If he was, were NDA's in place for Cans Festival or Bristol Museum? (Maybe another forum member will know more details) as this was painted for Bristol Museum.
People refer to the NDA's like a baby's arm in place for Dismaland but that was 6 years later so not relevant.
Did he or didn't he paint it? I would say no but I have bought an AP from this release as I like it. I like the print, he's an approachable artist on insta, I prefer this to a poster. Banksy appropriates other Artists work all the time. It would be preferable if this was sold in the same vein rather than some cheap shot I really painted it circular lie but whatever...
So for what its worth here's my opinion.. Mason was attributed to be the real painter of Devolved Parliament in this article:- creativefolk.co.uk/who-really-painted-banksys-devolved-parliament/this was subsequently picked up by The Daily Heil on Sunday referred to in this article:- creativefolk.co.uk/in-the-spotlight-with-mason-storm/ (no click bait from me, you're welcome) As you can see from the creative folk article and Mason's insta posts at the time he was more than happy to imply or attribute himself to being the real painter of Devolved Parliament As we have seen in Met's fantastically detailed posts Mason has prior form in parodying Banksy or using that twisted green envious bitterness of another artists success as his creative driving force in creating work. Stowe Gallery/ Marchant Group also have questions to answer in terms of previous shite/ outright fakes sold. As understand it they have now stopped selling this shite after rightly forced into a forum walk of shame. Is Mason Storm his real name? Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by Mass on Nov 10, 2020 11:52:30 GMT 1, I like the image, I canโt afford 9 million for the real deal, the posters are a counterfeit minefield, this is a good option at 300 direct from the artists gallery

Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by Lroy on Nov 10, 2020 12:16:46 GMT 1, i couldn't even afford the monkey parliament poster now,so this will do nicely, already paid for it ๐ Yes that's incredible what happened to this poster ?! ( and some tohers but less ) ...
I do'nt know why members " well informed " does not criticate the increase of this poster full of fakes on ebay ?! This is a real problem ? Maybe PC should authenticate these posters too ( and others - as posters are now at ocst of a print in the good old days ) ..

Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by Lroy on Nov 10, 2020 12:48:33 GMT 1, I remember a debate about the left hand/right hand Bansky...
Anyway, we/you should be honest guys, did you/we like a lot this painting ? It's a question...
I prefer the pot of paint, more Banksiest, on the statue at Brsitol Museum ! Or the Gold with the earring... And a lot !
I ve never been to keen of it.... And you know what art critics, high specialists of brainstorming of contemporary art could think about it...
You are doing the same here. Never mind.
Anyway, it is just a discuss - apart the thread on WOH, there is nothing to talk about...
Any ideas ?

least amount of physical input from the artist , least cost and time involved in production so should usually be a cheap option to purchase

Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by Lroy on Nov 10, 2020 13:52:28 GMT 1, If you all want to buy up an artist that has a direct connection to Banksy, there is a long list of people with more of a paper trail than this guy. Just look at the artists sold on POW for a starting point. agreed and... Not ! There will be always someone or somebdoy that will tell you : " nope, not involved with Banksy etc.. " Faile ? No. Paul Insect ? No. Jamie ? No. Del Naj ? No etc etc ...
What to think about mates involved ( and saw on some private videos posted on messenger ) in Boti show ?
Anwya, better keep secrecy ;-)
