Aslo there are not too many 'street' artists on film either, so again I ask is it the work or the hype that has made him so popular? For example if another artist with a different style did what Banksy originally did before banksy would Banksy now be so popular and would that artists now be the Grafitti worlds mega star?

You could argue that Haring, Basquiat and many others already did something similar but had a different style. Basquiat also worked in multi media including film, so Banksy is hardly benefiting from something that has never been done before.
Then you obviously have the other stencilists that came before Banksy, just face it... the guy is amazing at what he does.
Some of the fame must come on the back of the prints and OG's as a lot of people are introduced to the work by them methods, but thats the same as any other artist.
Dont forget, if you become popular after 'outing Banksy'. Most people will see that, as how you got your 5 mins of fame. Rather than using your skills to further yourself.... ironic no ?

flickr.. I quite like it, boys got skills imo. This whole reveal thing is a turn off though for me. Mason.. if you had come on here just pimping your self, im sure you would have had a few commissions by now

I have looked at your flickr page and you really do have great skill, some of your oils are amazing. Clever advertising stunt, but hoping thats all it is.

But what ever I take I will give back, honest. I just wish Banksy would stop with the odd wall here and there and get back to some of the real stunts like he used to do, London Zoo, McDonalds Child, Wheel Clamping Boudica, Traffic Cones at the A40, Lady Justice statue etc etc
