Artist Plate Project 2020, by sfnyc on Nov 16, 2020 4:52:47 GMT 1, For a company making millions of dollars in sales, you don't find it shady that they don't follow New York regulations on cause marketing or are even registered as a charitable coventurer (another requirement by law)? This is being done by and for the Coalition for the Homeless. Artware seems to be a sponsor for this charitable project, and it seems they are helping run the sales and maybe manufacturing given their background. I don't really understand where the confusion is coming from. coalitionforthehomeless.org/event/project-art-plate-2020
No confusion here, but I think you should stop pretending to be really helping a charity. The sale is violating NY state law at several levels, end of story. My issue with this sale: they're taking advantage of a charity and don't give an actual amount of how much is actually going to the charity per unit. That's shady and illegal.

Artist Plate Project 2020, by Deleted on Nov 16, 2020 8:20:08 GMT 1, Let’s also remember the cause. Homeless hungry people being helped by art. Let’s not bitch and moan about sold out plates. Buy the one you like the most and give back a little. Get off your high horses, the whole sale is shady. It's called "cause marketing", using a good cause to market your product. They're based in NY yet don't follow the laws set for "cause marketing" (because their listing / ads don't show any of the legal disclosures it should contain - such as what percentage or net amount actually goes to that cause.
Did you miss out on the plate you really wanted little baby? Spend less time whinging and more time building relationships and you might have got the ultra legend VVVIP link 😂 What a cock Womble!

Artist Plate Project 2020, by wanchope on Nov 16, 2020 8:22:37 GMT 1, Ok so I’d like to ask the forum a genuine question please? So for a while now I have been looking at JR artwork. I see the five skate deck piece that is up for sale. I love it so I’m thinking of buying it plus it’s for a good cause ( I used to live in NYC so even better to know it’s going somewhere that I can relate to a little). Now the question - is a full skate deck run like this a good investment at the same time? I see it has COA and although not hand signed is digitally signed and a run of 250. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks

I saw that, I wonder if they've all sold out or there will be refunds and stock back on later on today?

Artist Plate Project 2020, by orchid on Nov 16, 2020 12:23:15 GMT 1, 12 hour presale. As they said on the site 'All sales final'. Can't see them refunding a charity release. All the remaining plates go up later.

Sorry, didn't realise there was a presale, just thought a site error. Makes sense.

It's a cool image, so buy it if you love it, but don't buy with the expectation of value increasing.
If it's just the image you want, I'd say your money is better spent on this 40 euro poster. Official and cheap.

Artist Plate Project 2020, by happyshopper on Nov 16, 2020 12:50:00 GMT 1, Seems odd they did a presale when they’ve been so heavily promoting the release time.. for a charity sale.
I’ve been checking the website, but not seen any links to buy. Was this a back door link?

The links were available from the site itself. They weren't back door links. I think they have all since been removed.

Thanks. I hadn’t checked this thread! Doh!! Still, looks more like an accident than a presale.. unless presale emails were sent out? I don’t see any mention on social media.

I hadn't seen anything about presale. I went on just to look at the plates yesterday eveing and was surprised to see the option to purchase. The only one already sold out at that time was the Nara.
I didn't get any but regreting not picking up the Ruscha. It is the one that made the best use of the plate in my opinion. (The drum skin).

Pretty sure this was an accidental drop and wasn’t intended as a presale, as they’ve been quite clear that they were releasing to the public on Monday, and that sponsors etc had first refusal.
I’m praying they held some stock back and that we’ll get a shot at the Ruscha after all, but that’s highly unlikely:(

Artist Plate Project 2020, by gimmeabreak on Nov 16, 2020 14:28:48 GMT 1, This is being done by and for the Coalition for the Homeless. Artware seems to be a sponsor for this charitable project, and it seems they are helping run the sales and maybe manufacturing given their background. I don't really understand where the confusion is coming from. coalitionforthehomeless.org/event/project-art-plate-2020No confusion here, but I think you should stop pretending to be really helping a charity. The sale is violating NY state law at several levels, end of story. My issue with this sale: they're taking advantage of a charity and don't give an actual amount of how much is actually going to the charity per unit. That's shady and illegal. How is a sale being run by a charity taking advantage of said charity? Genuinely do not understand where your head is at on that one.
All funds from the sales of the plates are going to the Coalition for the Homeless, who is running the entire project. The sale is quite clearly helping the charity.
