Harland Miller • Hell, It's Only Forever, by orchid on Dec 8, 2020 17:00:35 GMT 1, Still such a disconnect from his editions and originals. Sells prints primary higher than Kaws, Jonas Wood and other major contemporary artists who have multi - million pound auction records under their belt and several international museum shows. What's harland's auction record and 3 last painting prices at auction again?

His prints are small runs and unbelievable quality.

Don’t think that makes up for lack of institutional support...

My point is that Harland Miller prints are superior to any other print I’ve seen. That coupled with low output demands a higher premium. There are no shortage of buyers let’s be honest

I do agree there's not a huge shortage of buyers for HM's prints right now. Though that's not a very good metric for judging long term success.

What is? The art world is as fickle as it comes. Flogging a few paintings for £££££ at auction is no guarantee either. Time will tell...

A bit the same with the Banksy prints with a Tesco flag. Those would do a lot better in Germany with an ALDI flag.

Consistent growth in auction results. Just to name a few. None are guaranteed marks for success, but good luck finding many artists that don't check those boxes and are successful, long term.

This.
As someone posted above, there are more than enough buyers willing to shell out for his prints. That's all the "success" he needs. His print market is a separate entity.
