For fuck's sake. Why is everyone suddenly so scared of offending people? Some of the comments about your last piece were ridiculous. It's art. It's meant to provoke thought. And besides, why is this any more likely to cause offence than, for instance, Rene Gangnon's Suicide Bomber? Because it's in 3d?
Granted, if you leave this around it might cause a bit of a scene... but please don't start toning down your ideas because you're scared they might offend people.
And incidentally I miraculously survived the massive car bomb in Bali... however I can see this for what it is, which is a piece of artwork and not something that shouts 'YEAH, BOMBS ARE GREAT AND SO IS KILLING PEOPLE'.

It's a question about going too far, has this gone too far to be offensive? No imo... and my reasoning is simple, in our world of street and urban art there are images of bombs, grenades, machine guns, tanks baby's skulls with holes in them... I could go one. Are they offensive... hold on, there's even the classic image from Vietnam (I think) of the guy getting his head blown off with a spray can, and these have never been called offensive. The idea of using cans rather than TNT or semtex can be read on various levels, a simple analogy to the awful truth of home made bombs and terrorism or the idea that street art and graffiti through the form of a spray can have a big impact and social voice throught it's use.

as for the video post above its like some kind of apacolyptic idea of what could happen... hence making your art more important!

Reminds me of years ago at school, someone in the A Level art group made a 'bomb' .. got an 'A'... unfortunately some member of the royal family was visiting the next day.. and the police team that scoured the area prior to the visit just flatly refused to let it be part of the show.. even though they had examined it for ages... and that must have been in 1985-ish!

You end up making these sorts of things everyday for fun and to put off other stuff. Have you seen Jim Lambie's turner prize piece when he slowly lowered a chair (I think) onto a load of spray cans to let them off. It reminds me of that. You can always photograph it and put that up in he streets. Strap a remote controlled pan to it and make a red arrows display. Anyway, keep on playing its refreshing. Its no more offence than loads of other stuff passed off on here as 'ironic' (i.e. dull). Work has started to get a bit serious on here of late.

I did lots of art at school then college, it made me hate it. I now do more work on my own than I ever did at college! I also have more work and more recognition than anyone I know doing art at university.
