Was the seller happy to receive £70000 (after fees vat etc?). Probably not. Also if someone won it at £120000 that means at least one other buyer missed out at £115000 or whatever the tier below was. However if you put it up here for £120000 it probably won’t sell so the value will lie below that in reality.

How much depends upon the individuals purchase price of the print and other personal circumstances like do they have any unrelieved CGT losses. My post was about a fair price that's all! |
