Some really valid points I think but conversely, popularity doesn't equal quality. Even if you are a new artist you need to put work in, have good ideas or represent something that resonates with people. Athena was successful at one time but not because it was good. I think if you love having art on your walls then having integrity is important. Its entirely different to using art as an investment or for speculation.

Theyโre half-interested in banksy (if I donโt go on too much) - they like the interactive side (Dismal land, street works) rather than gallery stuff.
Not really a stik fan myself so theyโve prob only seen the odd street piece amongst everything else.

My friends dont understand or care about my art which is very fair, kids couldn't give a shit about it which again is fair. They do try to humour me sometimes about it and pretend to be interested. It's not cool though, reminds me of stamp collectors, I am a modern day stamp collector, or autogrograph hunter. Not sure how it all started
