What? Fuck racists. I'm standing up against extremism where I see it. On this board it's mostly far leftist ideologies which I hate just as viciously as far right ideologies. Difference is the far right is (rightfully) shunned while the far left is mollycoddled and tolerated to make threats, call people the most horrible things. There's even a guy above this post wanting to dox people. So here's the question back: why do you stand up for that kind of behaviour? I sure as shit don't for far right idiots that judge people by the amount of melatonin in their skin. This thread is about standing up against White Supremacy. If you want to talk about left extremism, feel free to open a thread about it. Otherwise drop some Whataboutism here, but don't be surprised if you are thrown in the facist bin. Trust me, the far left doesn't surprise me anymore with any -ism they throw at random people who don't strictly adhere to their insane ideology. That's why these words don't mean what they meant before, and that's why people simply don't care anymore about being called these things. You are obviously of the opinion thay Sam Durant is saying something simply to appeal to lefties and you believe that virtue-signalling is when you say something appealing just to sound good. You have reached the conclusion that Durant is therefore virtue-signalling.
Unfortunately this conclusion isn't justified by your prejudices and beliefs. Unfortunately for you, there are many people with genuine virtuous beliefs and intentions (or are you going to start calling out religious leaders etc.). It is not beyond good people to believe that White Supremacy has no place in society.
Your calling the artist a virtue signaller, when you have no idea whether he genuinely believes that White Supremacy should be ended or not, is simply you casting aspersions on him because you can't counter his argument - BECAUSE YOU CAN'T BRING YOURSELF TO AGREE WITH IT. And it is that simple - if you're not against it, then you're for it. Elevating yourself to a smug authority on 'complex issues' doesn't hide the fact. It emphasises it.
