It’s no secret that my politics veer to the left.
Whenever I refer to someone on the right in a political discussion I don’t refer to them as far right or a nazi unless they have said or done something that makes me believe that to be the case.
I do wonder why, however, those on the right often refer to those on the left as far left or Marxists. I’m neither but have often been referred to as such on here. In fact I can’t think of a single person I know who is a Marxist.
I think such hyperbole adds to division and disharmony, and should be discouraged. Not everyone on the right is far right. Not everyone on the left is far left.

What do white supremacist look like?, as I want to see if I can locate one in my area. any advice!

I’ve always thought the fundamental difference between left and right ideologies lies more in the rights of individuals vs the power of government, as opposed to racial divisions; which is why there’s a mix of races on the left and right. I suppose, unfortunately, they’re often one in the same based on the socioeconomics of different races.

The left believe society is better served with an expanded role for the government, while the right values individual rights and civil liberties above government influence and power. I feel like this fundamental difference has been lost in the emotional responses and arguments on both sides. If you’re left, you’re a Marxist, socialist or communist. If you’re right you’re racist, xenophobic and a white supremacist.

Something tells me that the common ground where both sides would be happy is actually much more attainable than most believe. There has to be a middle ground between entitlement programs vs market-based solutions.

Personally, and I may get heat for this, I’m fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Fuck any government that tries to tell someone who they can and can’t marry, and fuck any government that tries to tell a woman what to do with her body. That being said, fuck any government that rewards laziness and seeks to tax, even more, an already highly taxed, hard working individual, who can barely make ends meet. I’m done blabbing, I don’t know much about anything tbh. Just kind of gets to me to see people on here, that I’ve spoken to for years and know to be good people, be labeled something they’re not, on both sides.

Imho it comes down to a simple phrase, don’t be a fucking asshole.

Not to labour the point, but factually, the number whom do so is incredibly small and in terms of damage to the economy would be far lower than white collar crime / tax evasion. But it is often used as a ‘reason’ fir not increasing benefits ....
