I think you are right. I remember thinking it expensive when the Pax boxes were a couple of thousand or so. Time to crank up the time machine again!
They are lovely boxes, and wrong war is a superb print.
Iโll make do with my wrong war poster, until my numbers come in.

You think ? I think the Royksopp cover and Tellรฉ event form an important part of his legacy, hand sprayed and well, not product, plus the first time he'd worked outside the UK. The cushions will be a forgettable footnote, but that Royksopp cover will be up there with Basquiat's K-Rob and Rammellzee cover in the future. Banksy's relationship to musical subcultures will form someone's PhD oneday, if it hasn't already.

and i suppose i used 'fanboys' dramatically. i don't see the royskopp ever being as well known as any GDP item by a wide margin.
that is a ridiculous statement lol the gdp cushions will be remembered forever. the entire gdp exhibit will. only fanboys will know about royskopp. The Royksopp covers are very well known amongst Banksy collectors. Moreover, they are hand sprayed. Making them an edition of modest originals. I find a Royksopp cover far more appealing than the cushions. i would take the cushions over the royskopp cover any day. also hand-sprayed, and showcases the artist's wit/creativity and all that biz. the cushions are a complete work by the artist. i struggle to say that about the royskopp cover. and i suppose i used 'fanboys' dramatically. i don't see the royskopp ever being as well known as any GDP item by a wide margin. |
