I have seen a couple of these in the flesh in this looks fake to me.

I am 100% sure this is a fake and not genuine.

The letters O S and P look shit...Why? They all have bends in the letters and this is hard to cut if you don't know what you are doing.
This was cut by someone who does not have any experience using a cutting blade.

The OP is pretty invested in this thread.... I wonder why...

Yeah. I am a bit fed up also to receive notifications from Discogs about these Banksy lps that are not all from Banksy and that have at a moment indecent and obscene prices !

Banksy’s prices only seem to be going in one direction: up. In the last couple of years, the work of the infamous graffiti-turned-blue-chip-artist has broken £1 million at auction multiple times, topping his previous records.

In October 2018 for example, his “Girl With Balloon” went for £1.04 million (and was subsequently half-destroyed by a concealed shredder, which ironically is likely to raise its price even higher). A year later, his painting “Devolved Parliament” smashed estimates, selling for almost £10 million.

The newest record Banksy’s broken, though, is vinyl. More specifically, he’s been instrumental in the highest-priced sale ever seen on Discogs, every music collector’s go-to site.

The record in question is Melody A.M. by the Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp, and it went for a cool $10,256 (over £8000).

The cover shows the duo’s name in a pretty standard, green, stencilled font. Below it is a green design that looks something like pixellated treetops. Presumably the main draw of the cover, though, is that it’s one of only 100 hand-painted by Banksy himself, back in 2002.

Granted, it might not be as iconic as the stab vest Banksy designed for Stormzy’s Glastonbury performance, but it is probably a bit cheaper.

Would recommend checking Discogs and looking into previous sales, as you can see respective conditions, etc. that way.

Would say this sleeve probably corresponds with the sale from August 2017, as there’s some wear to it.

*All* I saw up until a few years ago were in a darker green. Almost all in later years seems to be lighter. As the album is 20 years old you do the math. 
Be very very careful if buying these.

There's one coming up at Omega Auctions with some very solid provenance, but it's in a bit of a state. Depends whether you see the history and markings as adding to it as a record or detracting from it as an artwork...

"A copy of Royksopp - Melody AM (2 x white label LPs, WALLLP27, disc one is VG+ with some light surface marks, disc two is in clean Ex condition with some paper scuffs) with limited edition sleeve (this example #75/100 as denoted by hand to the reverse of the sleeve) bearing original stencilled sleeve by Banksy. This copy was owned by legendary ambient/electronica DJ Mixmaster Morris (his name to lower part of sleeve), who according to his habit has written on the front of the sleeve the BPMs for each track (so as to be a guide when mixing). The sleeve otherwise shows some storage wear, more pronounced to corners."
