Was vip and backstage at this great festival, one of the best of the world !
There were so many people gif a new band , they played unmarked then !
Anyway in French touch I prefer AIR.. each his own !

There was also Garbage ( mmm Shirley ..) , Spain, Red Sniper, Daft Punk were not the most wellknized then but the crowd was in dรฉlire after the show. Boom !!

I personally didnโt go for their disco plagiarism which seems to account for most everything after the excellent debut album. I prefer Thomas Bengalthars side projects and releases so hopefully he returns with a more techno/dance floor oriented sound as opposed to the pop of daft punk.

Two of the department heads, old soured vets from Columbia Records, wanted nothing to do with the band, citing their past difficulty with The Shamen, that this type of music didnโt sell. The rest of us wanted to do the deal.
We passed, and went out of business months later.

Of note, Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain listed Philosophy of the World amongst their favourite lpโs, after they were rediscovered many years after the band split up. They had no success prior to a re release of the lp many years after that. They now have a significant following I believe.
But nonetheless a sad story as none of them wanted to be in a band at all; they had an odd upbringing it seems.
Apologies to the daft punk fans for digressing.
