Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by Erik Ibiza on Mar 4, 2021 14:38:11 GMT 1, There's a competition on his Instagram right now for the top 16 comments to win one of the Virtue pieces. ... Going by all his other giveaway, it has nothing to do with likes. It's what he likes. Could be indeed. We'll see. It's a bit unclear in his post.

Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by pumpkintico on Mar 4, 2021 14:38:53 GMT 1, There's a competition on his Instagram right now for the top 16 comments to win one of the Virtue pieces. Now I don't know if this is allowed...but since this has always been a very helpful and friendly forum I'm just gonna give it a shot. My comment could be in the race to win one of the pieces, so if you're feeling realllllly bored in lockdown and wanna help out a fellow forum member who's wallet is too empty right now to buy this....go to http://instagr.am/p/CL9O2qSstTY and search for the comment by ELROWLOVERS "Cherry blossoms are very special because they remind us of both the beauty and the fragility of life due to their very short bloom time...." It has 87 likes and 2 replies right now, but we need more interaction such as likes and replies to get to the top 16 I suppose. Would be forever grateful if this works out. Mods, if not allowed, my apologies.
Are the โtop 16 commentsโ those with the most likes?

Ah well...still feel it's worth the try and thanks for anyone that is willing to help out and for the rest, sorry for the slight offtopic discussion, back on topic as far as I'm concerned.

Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by jimmyjam on Mar 4, 2021 15:26:21 GMT 1, These prints could be popular for a long time. Unless he releases another set of these in a year or two, which he very well could.
I know a lot of people who aren't interested in art at all... purchasing these. These images are VERY popular with his new instagram followers. Older Hirst fans don't see these as his main works, which I can agree on and there are the negative comments, but with most instagram followers these became extremely sought after.
I could see these in the value range of $6-8k in less than year. Possibly more in a main auction 10-11k. If these were limited to 50-70, like his other heni, they could easily be in $23-30k range. These will be popular in the Asian market and also American/European markets as well. Seems to be favorite with a lot of women/wives which is a very good sign.
There are also a few people who purchased one but are thinking to add another print as well later on. These are very nice to have as couples or multiples if you have the space.
Last these are NOT "OPEN" Editions these are "TIMED" editions. There is actually a difference.
Again, if another set is released in a few years then forget everything I mentioned.

Also agree some of the editions could be lower than expected. I think overall still pretty high with most of the attention on #1 and #4.

And in other news, looks like blossoms could be increasing in popularity in the UK in the coming years. www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/science-environment-56196275

Well. Thereโs low for an edition and thereโs low for a timed edition. I think it could average out at 250-300 each. If they are lucky.
Im hoping Iโm wrong as picking one up for under cost on a flooded secondary would be good. As I couldnโt bring myself to buy this image; not my vibe. Kids or my mums bedroom though

Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by Lord Lucas Roham on Mar 4, 2021 22:46:47 GMT 1, Like I've said previously these aren't it. From an archival perspective the dibond / aluminium setup isn't great and won't hold up well. These are the crypto equivalent of something like Mt Gox. Loads of promise but ultimately a total disaster. Save your hard ETH earned for GME stonks. To the moon... Iโm curious - can you qualify your statement about the detriments of archiving dibond in the long term? Genuinely interested as I had actually thought the opposite? Surely itโs favourable to a loose sheet in many ways? What have I missed? Much appreciated
Re Dibond, I've worked with printers who've had serious concerns about the lifespan of the inks when exposed to UV light. I've seen examples of signage fading after a couple of years when exposed to even indirect sunlight.
In the case of your Richter I'd be looking to get it framed with museum standard glass sooner rather than later.

Eg 23xx
That way we can have a rough guess of the numbers.

You are absolutely right.
I mentioned this in another Heni/Hirst post. If you want to really preserve theses unfortunately you need to frame theses as well with a UV protected glass or plexi.
Worked with many photographers in nyc over the years and seen these types of prints still fade over time. The UV plexi - and Iโm not sure these laminated pieces (the Hirst low editions have a think UV glass on them but the Charity butterfly and fruitful s do not and have a thin plastic over it) - used on these prints may not be the best for UV protection. It has some but not 100%. Look at the description between the two in heni (charity prints and elements prints)
Since itโs just laminated you might want to get these framed. All the Heni - if you want to preserve them they should be framed. I know it somewhat defeats the purposes of these type of print but the sun is a power thing.
Also again if the original lamination or glass gets scratched or damaged the print is ruined. There is not a way to fix those that I know of.

Thatโs good to know. Iโve always loved framing pieces without glass, if doable. For some odd reason, I feel like these may actually look better framed in glass. Thatโs a first for me.

What if BTC & ETH rise significantly during the coming 12 weeks when these are likely to be shipped.
As I understand you can return within 14 days of receipt if unopened.
Will those who purchased this way be wanting to return especially if itโs confirmed that these are large editions, to then purchase on the secondary?

The purchase price was dollars. So like with any purchase in a different currency, youโd just get the same dollars back at the latest ETH rate.
Just my thoughts about those who purchased with crypto during the current bull run.

4 being second lowest very surprising. Would be interested to see the official numbers
