Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by whatsthestory on Mar 4, 2021 0:29:46 GMT 1, You’re unlikely to make any large returns on an open edition, but at least you can get the image you like and don’t feel forced to make a rushed decision. I think these are nice images and if restricted to small editions people would be fighting to get them. If you don’t like them now because they are timed editions, I suggest that you liked the thought of potential returns rather than the image. I’m sure these will bring people who decide to hang them a lot of joy. Flippers not so much. I really hope Banksy does a timed edition charity print one day. Think of the money he could’ve raised if he had done a timed edition of the NHS print! I challenge this logic. I don’t think anyone buy art hoping it will go down. Like a house you can live in it, enjoy it but you want it to be worth more than you paid You’re talking about bit a of paper / plastic / metal with a sig because you think it’s desirable / a brand / more valuable because it’s a famous artist. I saw a dead ringer for this in John Lewis for £200 if you’re not bothered about the value and just like the image save some money
Sure, but that's the appeal of a Hirst. Proven to hold their value (or better) over time even if it's a timed edition

Care to share any evidence of this. Have Hirst timed editions done well in the past?

Can we tell from the order number ?

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by jimmyjam on Mar 4, 2021 9:11:22 GMT 1, It'll be interesting to see which ended up being the most purchased print. They all had a pretty even vote except for Politeness, which took the win.
Has anyone else thought of hanging them horizontally? Some may work.

My grandmother died recently and I wanted to buy something to remember her and this seemed very fitting. Now to wait c. 12 weeks (also interested to see what I've actually paid in GBP when it shows up on my credit card)

I looked - and no, there aren't any yet. Just some small framed print-outs someone is selling for £12.99.
Looks like they've sold a few too.

Yeah I’m curious too. I didn’t get one in the end for a multitude of reasons but myself and the misses have a bet on for how many, she thinks upwards of 3000 for the entire edition and I think less than 2000 across the edition (roughly 250 for each)

I think 3-4k but who knows. The real question is when we will even find out?

Bear in mind that Hirst does not get all the cash. Heni will also be taking their cut; which could be anything up to 40%. Nice work if you can get it.
Still, you have to at least acknowledge the irony in the fact the theme is “virtue” and he is shamelessly raking in millions mass producing pieces named “honour” 😂🤣😂
Dont get me wrong; no hate for the game here. I think these are incredibly derivative and the whole virtue shtick is almost sickening, but I still think these are some of the best images hirst has put out in recent memory.

Caveat: it's not actually taking about prints but I'm guessing it applies to prints as well. www.alucoworldpanel.com/what-do-you-need-to-know-about-the-dibond-panel/ Ah...interesting so already UV protected.......hmm to frame or not to frame then......personally like the framed look but I guess standard non reflective glass should be fine.

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Erik Ibiza on Mar 4, 2021 14:20:06 GMT 1, There's a competition on his Instagram right now for the top 16 comments to win one of the Virtue pieces. Now I don't know if this is allowed...but since this has always been a very helpful and friendly forum I'm just gonna give it a shot. My comment could be in the race to win one of the pieces, so if you're feeling realllllly bored in lockdown and wanna help out a fellow forum member who's wallet is too empty right now to buy this....go to
http://instagram.com/p/CL9O2qSstTY and search for the comment by ELROWLOVERS "Cherry blossoms are very special because they remind us of both the beauty and the fragility of life due to their very short bloom time...."
It has 87 likes and 2 replies right now, but we need more interaction such as likes and replies to get to the top 16 I suppose. Would be forever grateful if this works out.
Mods, if not allowed, my apologies.
