Be cool if he didn't put it on his website to make a point to see what happens & how long it stays there without him owning up to it.

Banksy Street Art on Reading Prison , by Sliding on the Walls on Mar 3, 2021 17:38:55 GMT 1, I really like this. Reading Jail has been empty for a long time now without anything being done there. No matter what happens to it, I'd like to think that this piece will remain forever and possibly in the short-term help to bring some kind of momentum to the current state of limbo in the jail's future use.

Banksy Street Art on Reading Prison , by stereodista on Mar 3, 2021 21:04:27 GMT 1, Went down today, and really enjoyed. Which I suppose is the point, after all! The feet are reliably bad; heโs not exactly life-size, which is slightly odd but good; the shadow work and type-written words are great touches; the odd defunct CCTV camera seen beyond the top of the wall feels topical. Definitely worth the risking a lockdown-breaking fine for, and Iโd bet a bit more besides that itโs absolutely his. Not that the odds would be all that good.

So buildings like Buckingham Palace, Downing Street etc are 'Grade 1,' places like Reading Gaol, Slade Prison, etc are 'Grade 2' as they're well made but not as good as they could be. Peoples houses are grade 3. Public Toilets are grade 4. Beach huts are grade 9.

The grades are 1 (top grade), 2* (2nd grade) and 2 (third grade)...
contrary to the above, everything else is unlisted!

I hold the same opinion also. And with the complications of negative press, wait a little, ride it out and then decide on claiming it or not. Dedicated fans of his craft can be pretty accurate without the confirmation anyway.

It's right opposite a retail park exit (with a McDonalds which is still open). Also there's a block of residential flats that overlooks the wall!

how great is that photo never seen him while doing his art. Intersing that he didnยดt just use a ladder. The more noticeable it is, the less noticeable it is at the end. So it looked like they were working on the wall as a construction. I would be interested in how long this whole process took, so no officials had the chance to let the fones ring to ask what they are doing on their wall

To be fair, itโs not a prison anymore(it was closed in 2014, I think), therefore the security around it is nowhere near what it used to be

Banksy Street Art on Reading Prison , by crogoblin on Mar 4, 2021 10:51:57 GMT 1, Can't tell for sure but the pic looks like it was taken early morning. So if it went up really early they could have taken it all down by mid-morning. Or it could have been done with permission/knowledge. The photo with scaffolding was taken around 4pm, according to the guy who took it:

Builders/ scaffolders are still working through the lockdown so the unsuspecting public wouldn't have thought much about it. As long as you social distance it's all good & cant get a better distance that at the top of a scaff tower behind what is essentially a giant mask ๐

great insight into his process. cool to see all the little details from using spray water and yellow to create a dingy prison uniform to the sharpie on the can labeled 'skin'. Love how the bob ross commentary fits it perfectly. to me this piece means that even though we are all locked down we can still create.
i guess this is why it took a bit to confirm- he had to edit the video.
