Easy to prove you have no involvement with the artist by posting a few screen grabs of the correspondence you have had when you purchased your canvas.
Go on FR, prove them all wrong!

Why not post the screen grabs of the chat with Arlo Sinclair?

There's no issue with that basic premise at all... just something fishy about Arlo's website and the Publisher's website (that months later he says he's working with) all being registered by Mark.

Is Mark actually Arlo? That would be absolutely fine, but why not be honest about it?

Maybe it's innocent, but looks suspicious... As does some members here getting excited about 2 artists they discovered, that suddenly are represented by the same publisher... You can't help feeling that perhaps one of those members is also Mark ?!

Arlo’s website was registered by Mark a few months before he created Toxic… so that’s what’s slightly suspicious.

Could be innocent… and you’re right, the pushing of artists someone’s bought into isn’t a new thing here

If a few of the regulars on this site have set up an 'in house' publishing business that includes doing their own marketing ie. WOW/AMAZIMG/BOOM/SELL A KIDNEY then why not just SAY?  You may get more support?

To repeatedly 'discover' and 'churn out' artists (that may or may not exist in reality), with very basic design concepts and simplified ideas only goes so far and becomes repetitive and transparent.  It starts to feel as though you are trying to fool people into buying rather than genuinely having belief in the work/concept you are publishing and trying to sell.  All the stuff about being on waiting lists and selling out of an edition before its even been produced is just nonsense, trying to create false demand like that only backfires and is not sustainable. Over the years the "is it or isn't it by Banksy?" is a very oppertunistic but now a very tired way of tricking people into buying substandard work that definitely isn't.  It just all looks like very inferior Banksy/Stik/Harland/Opie copies (or any other successful artists sold on this forum). 

If people genuinely like and vibe with the images/artwork then great buy it and enjoy it, but please! it takes more than a few sales and perpetual hype to make a successful artist, theres generally a hell of a lot of hard work, patience, planning and money involved...and talent.  But 10/10 for trying and good luck.

This is true but he's just starting out, so what sort of forum is this is you don't give artists a chance.
The tone towards new art on here lately has been pretty shocking. Maybe you are just past it with opinions.

Don't listen to me, i own 1 canvas and just like the work. It's not like i own a warehouse worth.

I believe there is a show planned for next year, so will be an interesting watch.
