Banksy original “Sale Ends” sells £4.2Million+, by LJCal on May 24, 2021 17:30:14 GMT 1, I'd say all things considered it's not a bad result at all. It's not his best work by a long margin and the size works against it so £4m+ is a good result, it wasn't long ago that this piece sold for a fraction of it's price today.

Banksy original “Sale Ends” sells £4.2Million+, by jimmyjam on May 24, 2021 22:36:01 GMT 1, These were mostly decent/good results - I think. Even the Nara, which is on paper, didn't do so bad at 650K. The original on canvas did actually pretty well.
Considering people here are saying ignore HK auction results - due to inflated prices, which I don't agree with, these results were pretty decent and fair.

People saying that are talking garbage, I've yet to hear one convincing argument as to why Hong Kong results at major auction houses are less reliable than a European or US result.

If anything HK is leading the way. Let’s be honest that’s where a lot of new money is , not on this forum 🤣

Banksy original “Sale Ends” sells £4.2Million+, by Dubman on May 25, 2021 8:46:11 GMT 1, I didn't think Christies did a good job of marketing this, almost no social media exposure. Should have been more 'noise' IMO but still a great result for the seller.
Cant harm the overall market.

I’ve also given a t some thought that HK results don’t count and it’s absolute nonsense.

I guess he is too busy counting his Peckham Rocks to give a kerboom

Banksy original “Sale Ends” sells £4.2Million+, by robo on Jun 9, 2021 16:52:22 GMT 1, I’d say overall results in Hong Kong are reliable indicator, and actually consolidate an artists market value because they prove that they have a global audience and reach. This is a good result for Banksy!

Banksy original “Sale Ends” sells £4.2Million+, by acquiesce on Jun 10, 2021 12:23:50 GMT 1, I didn't think Christies did a good job of marketing this, almost no social media exposure. Should have been more 'noise' IMO but still a great result for the seller. Cant harm the overall market. Agree that it was poorly promoted, I didn't hear anything about it until this post. It's a shame because I own one of these original prints and it seems this one could have used a bump in popularity.

That's why Christie's spend millions each year in hospitality building client relationships.

I am sure it was very well marketed and people who actually have £4m plus to blow on a Banksy painting knew all about it. No point in wasting money marketing to people who cannot afford it anyway.
