Art Car Boot Fair, by JKW on Jun 10, 2011 11:02:25 GMT 1, Personally I really like Chapmans' print. I'm surprise by the cost of these, they might as well print money. It's like Banksy all over again, if not worse.

Yep its not bad and quite funny that Hirst chose to paint it as the blue Wallace paintings which were supposed to be serious paintings and universally panned !(So I guess your correct with the art critics)
Anyone who's going and is up for possible Chapman shopping drop me a pm please.

Art Car Boot Fair, by kevkevkev on Jun 15, 2011 17:07:14 GMT 1, tempted to head to london for this. would all the prints be prerolled in tubes? wouldnt want to drag a tube with me or get my dirty hands all over a print.
silly question but surely someone inside will just tell you where the hirst is? they know people will be queing for ages. i have this fear of getting in there and finding 1000 stalls.

classic was 2 years ago when people were lining up outside the market bit.. and people were going into the market, walking around and going straight in skipping the line.
it will be an absolute shambles as normal, they never learn.

Yup agreed, it will be total chaos, cue lots of moaning on here after the event.
All the stallholders, their assistants, the world and his wife will be inside before the hoi polloi is let in anyway. So the chances of getting a hirst: Very slim I would say. No way on gods green earth I would queue overnight.

Art Car Boot Fair, by Ruggs on Jun 15, 2011 17:51:57 GMT 1, Agree with Freerange and pezlow comments. My mate and I were first in the queue two years ago. When it opened at midday it was utter chaos. I got print number sixty something in that Blake queue. As Pez says there's an awful lot of other stallholders, artists, guests, VIP's and press in there before the paying public get in. If there's any Hirst prints left at all after that lot have been at them i'll be bloody amazed.

Art Car Boot Fair, by skitchy on Jun 15, 2011 20:58:24 GMT 1, just look out for the car and run!
I'm sure they will get a grip and have an orderly queue for the hirst prints. The fact they released info already is a good sign.
A sprint race is deff not cool, hope they give tickets out.
Otherwise it sounds like that time when POW had that pinata with ' Free banksy print tickets', grown men fighting, rolling around the floor to find nothing but sweets! Anyone witness that one?

For a lot of people yes, but not all imo. I am considering Qing. For one reason only - that it might be the only possibility of owning a low edition Hirst, and yes, I do like the image. If I do Q, and was lucky enough to get one, it would be framed. I suppose my point is, dont tar everyone with the same brush. Mind you, I may be being stupidly niaive!!

It's worth bearing in mind though that just cause your well up the queue won't guarantee you what you want. At midday it'll be like the start of the London Marathon. The organisation is farcical. Whether its a Hirst, Blake, Emin, Morgan or something else you're after, best of luck!
