There's at least 5 at the front of the queue certainly on eBay later! One large moody looking family. LOL

Art Car Boot Fair, by skitchy on Jun 19, 2011 13:50:58 GMT 1, Just got back from almost 24 hours queuing. Managed to bag a Hirst being one of the first 25 who were ticketed.
All was kosher in the run up to the event, no queue jumping outside, everyone got on...
UNTIL....we were let in.
After first 25 had purchased The queue was jumped/bombarded by people (including some prominant forum members) who had not queued for shit, mainly friends of stall holders/ organisers / press people etc. who had managed to worm their way in. Which completely ruined it for maybe 30-40 odd people that had queued for hours.
Such, such poor and completely unfair organisation, with a mate of mine and a few friendly faces from previous banksy queuers missing out..
I think its disgraceful that people who hadn't queued at all bagged such an amazing print.
and by the way they released 20 box sets and 23 individuals

Was a bit of mayhem when the Turps people realised they had given out the wrong prints to people, They had given me a Chapman instead of Hirst. Luckily they caught up with me and rectified this.

Well done to all those who scored.

Hope no one went home with the wrong print. Would have been devastating for anyone that queued a lot time.

Hit the nail on the head. There were a lot of people who were mysteriously in the queue at the Turps stall who weren't queuing outside. One guy told me there were two entrances and two queues and they'd opened the other gate first (not sure if there was any truth in this). Also forum members taking photos of he queue who then mysteriously appeared in the queue at the front and people with black rather than red stamps...
If the organisers had allowed Turps to give raffle tickets to the first 43 to guarantee a single Hirst or a box set it would have saved a lot of grief and hassle. There were a lot of very upset people and once again a number are going to people that don't deserve them

Art Car Boot Fair, by 10th Mountain on Jun 19, 2011 14:52:14 GMT 1, Queing was very civilised until the off. As mentioned, after the 25 with tickets were ushered into the stall queue, a load of liggers, sneakers and people who had not queued throught the stupid hours suddenly appeared. Amid many a protestation from the masses, the security seemed to side on the side of newly emerging. Very strange. I was told that the organisers liked the idea of mayhem, and the spirit of the car booty. Their call I suppose. I did get a Hirst and a lovely thing it is too, and a cracking AP from Peter Blake. A good time last night, and all the best to the forum members who shared a n ot uneventful night with us. Cheers

Art Car Boot Fair, by Greg on Jun 19, 2011 15:15:49 GMT 1, What a f##king bag of unorganized shyte that was!
Got there just after 6am to find we were about 38-40 in the queue and felt fairly positive that I may score the Hirst that I traveled for. As the time got nearer I still felt the same until, "click-clack" the gates opened and like seb Coe we make a dash for it! (knew where the stall was as we had spied from the restaurant stairs next door)
First thought was..."F##k me, where did all these people come from?"
The queue was already 50-60 people deep so then had to unfortunatly muscle myself into a half decent position and a while later calling out those who were not in the Original queue! Stall holders friends and people with no stamps etc... It all became a mess from that point!
Kinda pissed at the f##kwits who organized this as it's so easily could be organized better...
Anyway it has been a long time since I last queued for a print and probably the last

Fought my way as best I could through the queue jumpers but to no avail and it seemed to be falling on deaf ears, sad really when it could have so easily have been avoided with better organisation. Fair play to those who queued over night and I'm pleased that they honoured your guaranteed prints you deserve them. Came away with a Polly Morgan so not a totally disasterous day but could have been better!

Very glad I did, its very nice. Some great offerings there. Loved the Polly Morgan, but I don't think my GF would have approved. Almost decided on a Turk eggs. Wasn't sure I was going to get it home in one piece. All in all a great day in the East End.

I was one of the 4am queue so tired now but was worth the long hours that we put in. meet some great people in the q and was all very friendly. was quite an experience seeing the drunkard pub goes walking past and double taking what the hell was going on with tents and chairs.

Hey MJ I didnt see you there. Shame, I bet I could have convinced you for a lunchtime beer with your hurst. I picked up a Peter Blake AP after the main run had gone, a bit cheeky to sell a run of 200 and then find 50 AP's dont you think? But still well happy. Loved the Carrie Reichardt stall as well.
