First of all in Chicago we eat only Ruggelach no balaclavas.
Second of all I never could have guessed you brits know what a proper baseball bat looks like.
Third if you do bring a bat to someone's home in the USA you run the risk of being shot.
Finally there is an area of the Chicago where there is a pretty strong honor code, and people live by it and uphold it, I have seen all lost wallets on the train returned to their rightful owners, sometimes days later, even if the person has to drive to the home of the forgetful.
While the rest of the world views the US as "wild wild west" or Chicago as gangsterland the home of Al Capone, people here don't worry about Eastern European street toughs in our queues because s**t like that doesn't fly here. For better or worse people are pretty much respectful of one another for a multitude of reasons. As the godfather teaches sometimes its out of respect sometimes out of fear but most of the time there is a little of column a and b.

I've been to a baseball game at Syracuse university. It was only a college game, but there was over 7000 people there. That's some love for a sport. The 7th innings stretch, what's that about?. Funny but when people heard I was from England, they kept saying "wow you English are football hooligans. I think there was a documentry on tv, not to long before. So I know all about feeling stereotyed.

That's where my wifes from. One if my friends had a bullet just miss him, whilst he was led in a hotel bed. He came back to England shortly after.

The Yellow and Red were purchased from the original owner. The orginal owner purchased the yellow direct from Aldrich. Then he and his brother both purchased the red from Kawsone. His brother's red came with the same number as the yellow that he already had. Since his brother didn't care (didn't have yellow), his brother gave him his number that matched so his brother could have matching numbers. I have all the original paperwork for everything.

I really do think they are awesome and would look great all 3 floated against white with a simple white frame. It would be killer.

Oh man then thats like watching a Chelsea match or something like that. If you're going to watch baseball you were only 700 miles from mecca, next time you have to come to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs.
Otherwise if you are near Boston or New York you have to see the Yankees or Red Sox, thats like seeing Man U or FC Barca.

Its probably the one place you brits should visit in the states but never do. I get visitors all the time who say wow new york is fun, but Chicago is so clean and nice and friendly.
So I guess I'm lobbying for more visitors, that said if anyone from the forum is ever in Chicago, I make an excellent tour guide (lived here all my life).

BTW we have our own semi-somalia here too, look up the current Zeta's in mexico, that shit will make you sick! I've had mexican friends kidnapped for ransom, not fun. Seen Proof of Life with Meg Ryan and Russel Crowe?
To be completely honest though Somalia might be too hard-core. Not sure I'm even ready for India yet, many of my friends regret going because of the empathy they feel.
It's hard to know the right thing to do about situations like the ones we see in the third world countries nowadays. Its harder still to understand why we have the 99% OWS'ers. Maybe we need to look at ourselves with a tin eye more often, and search for the answers.
All kidding aside Ill be coming to London in the springtime, so I ll say first round on me, if that'll get ya'll to understand a bit of where some Americans are coming from these days.
