Banksy and Supreme collab, by Lroy on Jun 21, 2021 11:49:06 GMT 1, Banksy x supreme makes sense , both are from street culture Not with the same mind, nor soul.
And Supreme is only merchant.
Supreme will never put on line/sale with lottery or not items ( tees too ) at 10 £ as for GDP, art that will take 500 % of value ( I guess lol ) .
Supreme has not anymore the hype with the youths ( more older people now, hypsters per example ).
Street culture does not mean nothing, ask Kidult who tagged with his extinghisher some brands coming from the street culture apparently ( Agnes B ? A.P.C. Kanye West etc ) ... Only money in fact. What means street culture ? Skaters ? There are lot cheaper ones..
I like a lot Kidult, a bit sad that he is not already present amongst us.. Have great tees from him, for few euros Free ones...

Cpl things..
Supreme was initially a skateshop. Owned and run by skaters, for skaters. Granted that stopped being the case years ago. Its location and some pretty savvy initial collabs gave it the growth it shows these days. I very much doubt James Jebbia has stood even close to a moving board in many years, though.
They have actually done several fundraisers, particularly in light of the Japanese earthquakes a few years ago.
In relation to others, they are not actually that stupidly expensive. Resellers (ah, our friends the flippers) certainly are. Granted, there are some stupidly priced items, though often those are usually priced about the same as the brand that is making them with/for them.
The most surprising thing about the massive attack collab (note, it wasn't called a collab in their descriptions, so perhaps they just did it without licensing, something they have certainly done before), is that prior to VF buying them - a major shareholder was the carlyle group. A group that invests heavily in weapons companies. Not really something I'd assume folk would want to be associated with.

" They have actually done several fundraisers, particularly in light of the Japanese earthquakes a few years ago. "
Really far away... Obey have done the same thing ( I have the " Wave " print, 600 ex ) , as a lot of artists or/and street artists...
You are right about flippers. But shipping, but vat , but etc... The amount for a tee, could be lcose to 120 euros ! a tee ! 180, 210 for a sweat.
In the 70/80 we talked about yuppies that made their money after the hippie thing.
Supreme is extremly hyped, and hou are not wrong about flippers.
M+RC NOIR has always been cheaper and less hyped. My son and youths liked it.
Yes skateboards, of course skateboards, but, In Europe - I don't know aout USA and Uk - skateboarding has this " bourgeois " side.
Anyway, never mind. I' m trying to clarify sometimes some situations, but I am clums, due to translatikon, first.
