I had a last check aswell. It got me to point out the vehicles again but wouldn't accept the token code, thankfully though as I was fed up pointing out motorbikes, trains, trucks and cars.
I had just the one email aswell and didn't bother going the route of hooking up to metamask to increase my chances. I would have loved to have got one but will stay interested to see how it plays out.

Many people have voiced concern that this release, at 10K, is such a large edition and it may cap the value of the pieces. After the trade-in period, there will be far less in each medium. Each medium will trade in very different markets and will be sought after by very different collectors. If we just call it a 50/50 split - 5K NFT's and 5K physical copies. Its still a big edition of each, but definitely more reasonable.
Looking at other large Hirst releases... The Virtues sold nearly 7.5K between the 6 variations. Yes, there are 6 variations but they are still pretty similar. The Virtues are trading at 3-4X vs the release - not bad at all. The Hirst Mickey Mouse Swatches were also a large release (2K for the Spot Mickey and 20K for the Mirror Spot). The Spot Mickey is trading at 4.5X vs release while the Mirror Spot is trading at 2.5X. The Currency are signed originals, so I'd argue they are much more desirable than a Swatch.
If The Currency achieves similar appreciation as the above releases, I'll be more than ecstatic to enjoy the piece on my wall. However, I'm probably going to wait to trade it in to see what the NFT values do. If the valuations are so lopsided, it might make more sense as an NFT (to keep or sell). Either way, I think the physical copies will do just fine.

Not sure if Damien had the foresight to see how this is unfolding or not, but it’s definitely entertaining to be a part of it all, and share the experience with you guys.
